I essentially agree with GhostontheNet on that subject. Christian authors haven't been dug a literary grave by God, they generally dig their own. Of course, there is also the fact that many Christians would condemn a great deal of things, which does limit the success of those authors that are trying.

*in complete agreement* I remember one time I was reading these books by some black supposedly christian author and the over all message was that we shouldn't do the crap the world dishes out: drinking, drugs, sex...etc. But they portrayed it by having the main character DO everything... The first book was about sex and the main character (a girl) was giving into her ex's (because they broke up, her ex cheated) demands... It sucked. After I realized that the books stunk (the writing wasn't even all that hot) I put them down... We've yet to have GREAT christian manga come out on the market, but there's already been a first: Serenity (insert subtitle here) it's funny, but the art could use a tad bit of work.

Just because the main character lives a life of sin doesn't mean that the author is promoting it. I'm assumnig the character is some sort of dynamic character than changes later.

I agree. Sometimes an author can use such characters to make a point: "don't do that or similar consequences will result!"
