And they are going to do a lot more...

Kaemmerite brings up one of the reasons I like the manga better - you can read much faster than the pace of the anime. In all honesty, I think the best part of this arc is the first fight between Kakashi and Zabuza. It moves moderately quickly and has several different tricks. Of course, then
Kakashi spends a while trapped in the sphere of water, but after that at least we are introduced to the Sharingan.
Well you can get away with a lot of things in the manga that you can't with the
anime, also sometimes there is added information or scenes in the manga that
aren't in the anime.
Example of the first in the Excel Saga manga they supposedly include stories that
would have been too controversial for the anime and in the Crest of the Stars
manga they add an entire scene between Jinto,Lafiel and Spoor.

i never said the manga was face-paced....or I might`ve. I can assume as far as the kids go it`s realistic, but i`m sure in real life, without the unrealisticness of Zabzua having a double in the first place, im sure his double would try to salsh his way through the kids and just kill the bridgebuilder.

Well, c'mon. How many TV shows or movies (not talking anime, just in general) have you seen where the bad guy actually DOES something rather than standing there gloating or telling the hero his plan?

Yeah no kidding. I`m saying in general it`s not realistic. Not compared to other things.

So the manga covers like 5 episodes at a time right? I heard Zabuza is in Volume 2,3, and 4. Soon, I`ll be sick of the guy.

BTW, how much farther into the series is the anime/manga in japan.

The latest episode in Japan is episode 156.

How old does Naruto look at that point in the series? Is there a main villian established yet?

There is no main villain in Naruto. It's like DBZ, with different arcs.

I'm surprised no one has commented on last night's episode yet. I really do think Naruto's voice has grown on me, I actually like it fairly decently now.

As for Haku, I wasn't sure what they were going to do with him...but it seems that he's still a guy, even though his voice is VERY feminine sounding. But that's cool, he gets mistaken for a girl anyway by most of the other characters, so I guess it fits.

I saw the last episode, but I had no particular comments. Overall, it was annoying how drawn out the episode was, and this will only become worse toward the end of this arc. At least it was drawn out while they were doing something moderately intelligent, not drawn out while standing around. Haku I never really cared about, but the voice works well enough.

As for a "main villain" I will actually disagree with you. There may be arcs to Naruto, but other than this first one all of them are linked into an overall story that emerges very slowly. By this point in the manga there is an organization that can probably be considered a main villain, but on the other hand there is another major villain as well, so it isn't that simple.

I have to comment on one part I found "Easy to Mock"

When Kakashi and Zabzua summon the water dragons. Me and my friend cracked up and thought they should`ve made that a song.

Is Zabzua gone for good? Since I`m seen him on covers on later manga im assumming not.

I don't follow. However, I did find that part rather slow. A general tendency is to spend a lot of time showing the most powerful jutsu, but producers don't seem to understand that this eventually becomes tiresome and actually reduces the impact of something that is supposed to be so powerful. If a sequence goes on for too long, when the result appears you don't think, "Wow, that's cool," but "Oh, thank heavens that's over."

Yes, Zabuza will return, as is fairly obvious. At least we won't tell you how.

I actually liked the hand seals. A certain ninja-in-training I know told me that they're pretty accurate to actual ninjutsu seals. From what I've seen of Naruto, it's main focus is definitely the characters' growth in the arts of Ninjutsu. So, I can see why they included those scenes.
Anyway, I really enjoyed Saturday's episode. The only part that got me was Sakura and Sasuke's "near attack". That was very exciting....[/sarcasm]
I did have one question, though. I never understood Naruto's reaction to Haku. Did anyone else have trouble grasping that?

No, but I do believe it was poorly written. I'll attempt to explain: Naruto thinks that he's doing well, then he sees someone his age who is apparently far beyond him. Abruptly he feels as though all his work and accomplishments are worthless compared to this genius.

Meanwhile, your post made me understand what Tom Dincht was talking about. Yes, I was surprised that they said each of the seals as they did them. In my mind that doesn't work very well, especially given that the author explicitly said he used hand seals to replace traditional incantations.

It was more than "Slow" it was "Funny". They sounded so dumb doing that.

Also, is Haku a villian or god guy? My friend said he saw a clip of them fighting so yeah....

Also, I asked this beofre but I want to be sure...

How far into the series until naruto could....let`s...say fight Goku after DBZ ends and uh....survive for a minute?

Along with what MSP said:
Though in a way they became "good" to an extent at the end. Personally, I actual thought it was quite sad when Zabuza turned on Naruto, saying "Kid... Not another word...", for those that understand. ;_;
The irony is that Haku isn't really that good.

Tom Dincht wrote:Also, is Haku a villian or god guy? My friend said he saw a clip of them fighting so yeah....

Why did several people answer this question? Perhaps this is just personal taste, but I wouldn't have wanted to reveal that. Not that it really matters.

Tom Dincht wrote:How far into the series until naruto could....let`s...say fight Goku after DBZ ends and uh....survive for a minute?

I don't think the question is worth speculating about, really. They are two completely different worlds, with very different laws of the supernatural. Unlike some cross-series battles, this one doesn't really interest me.

Ok,this is a bit off topic but has anyone else taken the:
Which One Piece Girl Are You Most Like?quiz over at The Otaku?
For some reason every time I do it, and despite answering it the same or nearly the same way each time,I keep getting different answers.

Not to be overly strict, but that is very off topic. Perhaps you meant to post it in another thread? In any case, please find a thread that is at least about One Piece.

Resurrected!

Not that there's been any new developments as far as voice talent, but something struck me as odd.

After Sasuke jumped in front of Haku's attack to save Naruto, it showed clips of recent events in the background. In the upper right hand corner was the scene where Naruto was bumped into Sasuke and their lips met. This was cut out of the episode in question, but wasn't cut out of this scene. And it's not like it was only there for a second or two...the scene was up there for almost the entire time.

Just thought it was kinda weird, is all.

Kaemmerite, that point was so important. I honestly think it should not only be a post or thread but we should have an entire forum about what you just said.

Just messin` with ya. ;)

I noticed that too actually. Proabably because it wasn`t actually happening.

BTW, is Naruto`s Eve or whatever (Naruto marathon), new year`s eve or christmas eve> If on New years, then will toonami/ adult swim be airing then vice versa?

They probably couldn't cut it without cutting that entire scene. And they probably weren't allowed to do that since all edits have to be approved by the Japanese company licensing Naruto.

Nope. CN is going to air a bunch of Christmas specials. Too bad many of them have already aired like three times already. But, it makes sense not too air Toonami. Because it's a major holiday, alot of people would miss it.
