Voice Acting! What professional actors/actresses do you think would be good VAs?

Postby eva-boy7985 » Fri Jul 01, 2005 1:22 pm

Here's an interesting question. What professional actors or actresses would make cool voice actors in an anime series or movie? Miyazaki's films, for example, utilize professional movie actors/actresses for the voices when they're release stateside such as Patrick Stuart in Nausicaa and Claire Danes in Princess Monoke. What do you think? :thumb: :jump:

Marina Sirtis and Jonathan Frakes!
Of course this is because they co-starred on Gargoyles.:)

Christopher Lee could suit evil/deep-voiced characters quite well. That is depending upon whether he can change his voice much or not, though.

And Because they all three were in Star Trek The Next Generation. Patrick Stewart as Captain Picard. Marina Sirtis as Counsilor Deanna Trio and Johnathan Frakes as Commander William Riker.

I loved Billy Crudup in Princess Mononoke...I hope he does more. The reluctant hero type (like Ashitaka ^_^)

Billy Crystal is in Howl's Moving Castle. After hearing him in Monsters Inc, I though he would be a awesome voice actor for anime.

Kiefer Sutherland. Doesn't matter what series, just have Kiefer Sutherland do all the lines.

I believe there is not a actor or actress who has not done a voice for a animation and maybe a anime sometime in their career. Some have done voice overs for commercials and you wouldn't know it unless you listen real well.

I actually think Mel Gibson could do a really good job as a VA, either in a somewhat comedic part or a more serious, commanding-type character. Bruce Willis could be cool as well.

Will Smith--he can do humor and action very well
Robin Williams--the guy is so brilliant! (And he's had experience in VA. He was Batty Koda in Ferngully and the Genie in Aladdin.)
Let me add:
Keith David--He'd make an excellent Bear Walker in Gungrave.
