Ok, I am going to virginia and consequently will not be on much if at all for the next week. I will visit Washington DC, and Williamsburg. I will attempt to have a good time. So, goodbye. If my absence you anxiety or bloating, you probably have some serious issues that should be taken up with your psychiatrist imediatly.

Btw: what do you all think of Virginia. I am attaching a poll to boost the usefulness of this thread.

I voted I could care less because i don't really like the eastern states to much...They're way to humid. But VA is pretty cool just cuz I was born there.

Well, I live in Virginia. Where I live in Virginia, it's totally different from the other parts. In the western part, it's mountainous, but in the eastern (as you know) it's a lot flatter and there's more to do. But I love Williamsburg and D.C. (which is, of course, just outside of VA). And Jamestown's pretty cool, too, so you should go there if you can.

Hey, Yall. My family comes from roun'chair. South western virginia, next to Tennessee. They used to live in the Appalachian mountains... Now we live in Maryland so don't live in them parts no more.

That is true. Pay no attention to my joking. Virginia is a nice state. I have realatives who live in Norfolk, and that is a great place to visit. Very pretty, and a lot of cool Navel history.

Above, I was talking about Cripple Creek Virginia. Quite little town on the edge of the Appalachian mountains. Very peaceful there, and they always make sure your belly is full! Great place to visit. But there is only two roads there...one going in and one going out.

Well my brother and his family live in Shenandoah County VA which is about a hour and half from Wash. DC which is not too bad an area because it is away from the big cities.
Plus my father's great grandfather settle in VA from Portugal and had a farm and raised his children there. My grandfather and grandmother are from VA. So I can't say anything bad about the state.

I think I've heard of Cripple Creek. Yes, I live in southwest Virginia, too, close to Tennessee and Kentucky. It's certainly not the flashiest place and there's not much around for an hour or two, but it's very pretty country. I love autumn here.

Oh yeah. It is nice just going up into the mountains during the fall and walking among the leaves. One of my favorite places is a hugh tree, which once surviced as the church for my great grandparents. Yes, all the people in the area would come to meet under a huge oak tree and there they would have their church service.

I was born, raised, and currently reside in Virginia (as you would know if you read my profile). I love it, and I intend to live here for the rest of my life unless I something changes my mind.

Virginia is a very diverse state in terms of its environment and development. There is a coastal area, mountains, flat areas, and sizeable forests. There are several large cities, small towns, and less-developed areas. It's central location on the east coast also makes it relatively easy to visit lots of important attractions and landmarks (Washington D.C., New York, Disney World, etc.).

When you consider all of that, Virginia is indeed a great place to live.

I voted that I wanted to spend more time there as it is my paternal grandfather's native state.He came from a very long line of Virginians
starting in the 17th century.All of whom settled in the southeastern corner,
mostly the Isle of Wight,Surry,Sussex and what is now part of Suffolk city
but used to be Nansemond county.

Rather than make another thread announcing that I am back, I am simply going to rehash my Virginia thread.

It was pretty good. I like some parts of it alot, other parts not so much. That is why I chose option 5 on the poll. I went to colonial Williamsburg. that place was interesting (Patrick Henrey sure is a good speaker). I also went to fredericksburg. Nothing about it enthralled me too much. Washington DC was better. I went there too.

My Two Cents: Virginia is bleh. Actually, Northern VA is bleh. I mean, it's a nice place to visit, but I actually live here. My environment is actually not so great, but it grows on you. Doesn't make me want to love it though. =.=;;

My ancestors mainly settled around the counties of Surry,Sussex,Isle of Wight,Southampton and what was Nansemond county.
All in the Tidewater region of Virginia.
