News: Four-year-old borrows mum's car to rent video game

Talk about anything in here.

That's amazing! LOL! That's one talented and intelligent kid!

I had a slightly similar expreience when I was about the same age, but it wasn't a fraction as cool. My mom had parked the car and left me inside for a short while. I got up to the front seat just to get a better view. I accidentally leaned on the gear shift thing, and the car went into reverse. Feeling the car start to roll backwards, I tried shifting it back into park, but accidentally put it into drive. I kept pulling the stick back and forth, but couldn't park it. I was getting really panicked. Eventually, some unknown stranger noticed me, and and got into the car to re park it. *lol*
It is the infirmity of little minds to be dazzled with everything that sparkles.

I'm glad the kid was okay. And, I had funky dreams before I ever drove. My least favorite was the one where I got pulled over by a cop for being 15 and driving without a license and then, he pulls me out of the car and starts beating on me. I'm not kidding here.

Ashley was a very timid 4 year old who had heard FAR too many stories of kids playing with the wheel and driving into a ditch and DROWNING! So she stayed far, far, FAR away from the wheel til about oh, 16 or so. ^^;;

I know how you feel Ashley, my Mom was very graphic, when it came too warning me about something dangerous. Example “If you go out in the street a car will hit you, and you will be squashed so flat, that your eyes will pop out of your head. And your brain will be smeared all over the street!â€

I'm completely paranoid of driving. I still haven't got my liscense. It all started with some experiences on my cousins farm involving potholes and a car doing 360s and driving into a ditch. Freaked me out. Thought I was going too fast (abot 60km/h) so I slammed on the brake... except it was the accelerator. After that I have to many scary thoughts of driving. But hopefully, one day I'll get behind the wheel.

Wow. Smart kid. Little to obsessed with gaming though ;)

wow, smart kid. definately should have taught the mother something though, about leaving keys in easily accessible places... ^^

my parents had both my sister and i sitting on their laps behind the wheel as soon as we were big enough to see over the dash, so at about 4. but since we had manual shift trucks, it never came into our heads to attempt to drive off by ourselves. but since we lived 25 miles in the middle of nowhere, it wouldn't have been much of a problem.

Sounds like my brother.... well except he only made it down the street before he relized he would get in serious trouble and stopped the car. My brother was 5 at the time and my parents were glad that he stopped too (just finished paying for the darn thing).

Dude, that is cool in my book. Wait... how did he hit the gas, steer, and see what he is doing if he was only 4?

In the news article it said he used the pedals to accelerate, take his foot off the pedal and look up to see where he was going. He would alternate between these actions.

I am sure somehow out of this, politicians will further attack video games for being an underlying evil within society. *goes to play some GTA*

THATS HILARIOUS! He'll probably be a genious later on in life. I used to have nightmares about driving myself around like that and crashing when I was little. :lol:

I wonder if he was going for some sesame game? Anyway, I am glad that nothing bad happened to him. That would have been so horrible.
Cars? I never thought about driving them when I was small. Sure we had one, but I had seen a couple of crashes when there were too many people in the matatu...enough to scare a little girl out of her wits. But now I can't wait! I have already started practicing when I go out in the country and am okay...plus certain friends just got their licenses.
