Titan Landing

This is a story I've been following for a while, and now it seems to have come out successfully. The first image from the surface of Titan have come back, and while not truly spectacular, do betray some fascinating details.

It'll be interesting to see if any information about Titan's supposed methane ocean can be found.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.

Yeah, I was disappointed there wasn't more commentary on that, although they do mention shorelines of a fashion.

Interesting, I didn't know NASA sent out another probe. Though, I'm not surprised, they tend to do that a lot :P. I'm interested to see what results they find.

i'm pretty excited about this probe mission, and have been since about 8th grade when the probe was launched. (the saturn probe, and titan probe are part of the same project). can't wait to see more pictures, especially in color... and more commentary would be nice.

the saturn probe is named Cassini for the man who 'discovered' and named the planet, and the Titan probe is Huygens named for another astronomer type, what he did though, i can't name off the top of my head.

Christiaan Huygens, a mathematician and astronomer who, among other things, discovered the true shape of the rings of Saturn.
