Hey...you need a webserver? I can host, but my internet's been screwy lately. It'll be fixed soon, and I will take care of FTP, then I can become a professional hoster. But for now, bear in mind that I don't think you're going to find any *free* PHP/MySQL webservers. I was looking, and I decided, what the heck, I'll make my own!

I do believe its %apachectl start where % is the prompt. For free webspace w/ PHP and MySQL, its going to be very hard. Both require some setup that aren't provided with free services. If you're willing to put out some money, I know a very good webserver.

PHP that supports MySQL is a PAIN to set up. You need to recompile PHP every time you need a new module. Took me a couple days. Wu-FTP is a pain as well.

Its only tricky if you have a little Unix background. All those configures and makes can make your head spin. Here's a couple of tips.
1) Go to Webmonkey.com and use the tutorials on setting up PHP and MySQL. They are a great help.
2) Install Apache, PHP, and MySQL ALL AT THE SAME TIME. That way they all play together.
3) Get a version of *nix that has packages. That way, if you want PHP, MySQL or WuFTP, you install the package and it works. Or find a webhost that has it installed aready. Any good webhost should have PHP/MySQL installed. If not, they're running IIS and they're not a good webhost</end M$ rant> Or Buy a Mac!!!!

Hey Master Kenzo, is your internet problems because you have Comcast HighSpeed Internet? I'm just wondering because ours has been horrible for the last 2 weeks.

Update for those of you interested: Hosting is fully set up...PM me if you want a piece, I've got tons of space. As long as it is not anything inappropriate or copyrighted, then I'm OK with it.

And no, here in Ajax we have "durham.net" service.

I have my sig images hosted through 100webspace (you could see it if sigs were enabled), and I used that site for some of my online classes.

It has php/perl/mysql

Dhost.biz is good, not a lot of space and bandwidth though. I do not trust them with the paid stuff, only free, don't buy a domain from them. I've had a not-so-pleseant experience with them and paypal. But the quality is really good.
