My dad had our grill going and had just put a new piece of wood on. He came inside and went upstairs for no more than ten minutes to talk to my mom. I was on the computer, not paying attention to anything, when I heard my mom scream and everyone stomping and running upstairs. I ignored it for awhile, being a complete lazy-butt, and continued to fool around on the computer. When the stomping, running, and screaming continued, I decided to go and see what the problem was. I got off the chair, looked out the window and screamed. Our whole backyard and the brush leading down to the beach was on fire with taller flames than me. The flames were right next to my house as well, but my house didn't catch on fire. I ran and threw my shoes and coat on. My mom told me and my brother to go and knock on our neighbors doors to tell them that our yard was on fire and to get out of the way, just incase. Luckily, my dad had most of the flames out before the firemen got here. I know God was looking out for my family because, like I said, my dad put out most of the flames without getting hurt. Our house is just fine and the fire-station isn't even a mile away from us. Praise the Lord that everything and everyone is all right!
