anybody played this series? i played the original games demo that came with my ps1 a long time ago and loved the series. Just bought AC3 and its a great little game. I like the realism of the series, though not as much as like mech warrior.

Actually, there is already a thread on this subject: http://www.christiananime.net/showthread.php?t=7054

I am a fan of the series. I like the deep level of customization, and realistic (if you can call anything about giant robots "realistic") control scheme.

I only own AC3 Silent Line. I agree with Cb, the customzation that the serise offers just tacks on hours of extra fun.

Though I always found some of the bosses to be very very very hard. I couldnt use my normal weapons, I would have to use some "cheasey" Weapon I normaly wouldnt have bothered with.

My cheasiest stradedy was to get a fast set of hover legs, and the duel weapons pod. Just keep on launching the little suckers, while running in a circle. The Boss will just chase you around getting pelted by your pods the whole time.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

well i have two buisness AC configurations and i use the third as my fun do whatever mech. So Chasm my heavy tank mech has unGodly firepower and armor, Dragonfly is my mobile hover AC I either use quad lazer arms or a lazerblade and an energy shotgun. Some rocket pods on the back.

But the leggless mechs just aren't anywhere near as fun. so my third isn't as practical but he's more enjoyable to use. :thumb:

I tend to avoid the hovering acs, except for water missions (since they don't sink ;) ). I don't like the fact that they have less armor than the other leg types. I usually play with the front-leg bipedal designs, since they have the best balance of armor and mobility. For fun, I like to use the weapons that don't auto-aim, like the grenade launcher. I haven't played AC3 very much (just the first mission, actually  ), but I have reached 100% completion on AC2, and almost that on AC2: Another Age.

But thats the reason i use a hovering AC its for their speed, they can hit speeds normally reserved for boosting without useing the drain on your energy, so i find its a good place to use some high powered energy weapons, such as the before mentioned quad lazer arms, good hits will shear a thousand Armor points off of an enemy, and they fire quit fast, especially with the correct optional parts to boost power and fireing rate. You have to have a really good generator too. I tend to use the heavy models made for tanks and stuff just because of their stellar stats, i dont need the extra weight. I like to use rockets too. I feel more skilled when I can send multiple rockets at somebody and they hit as oposed to self guiding missles.

Right now my dark turquois and black bipedal mech , who is named Mobius, I switched him to some reverse jointed legs with next to no energy drain, he has all low power , and light stuff with a high output generator and booster, so he can stay in the air indefinatly if I boost right. kind of fun, DEATH FROM ABOVE!!

I like having a really fat one with big guns (Aaron can attest to this) I just started playing not to long ago...so I do not have the best parts yet....but my Mech Blitzkrieg is still a beast. Flame throwers rock.
