That was quite rude indeed. Any passer-by can tell that the game demands your full concentration. There's this one guy I always see where I play, and he always gives me the same exact conversation every single time. While I'm playing he walks up to me and says "How old are you?" I reluctantly answer him... he walks away. A few minutes later he comes back and tells me he's stuck up here without gas money and wants a few bucks.
Anyways, I'm sorry to stereotype, but, middle-age women like that are more often than not, rude and/or moody. Could be their nearly constant dealings with their children, that's enough to put anyone in a bad mood. I work at a supermarket and it is a well-known fact there, that young/middle aged women are the most difficult customers to deal with.
I suppose you'd have to excuse the lady though, for not understanding DDR, or the kosher form of conduct that DDR players are expected to observe (such as coin lines.) Just one of those times you have to take a deep breath, call it a day, pack up your stuff and go home.
