Crazy Places For A Anime Con

Postby ashfire » Thu Jan 10, 2008 5:57 pm

I thought "What would be a crazy place to have a anime con?"
I thought "A cruise ship." Say like the Queen Mary which is docked in California to never sail again and used as a hotel or on a regular cruise ship which could sail out and sail back to the same dock.

This is crazy but true: from what I've heard there's a con in Hawaii. It's called the Kawaii Kon. Great, so after your cosplay outfit is ruined by some little kid splashing water on you, you can go to the con and you'll lose the cosplay contest. Darn it.

The Queen Mary hotel was used as hotel space for people going to the AX con last year.

Also, there was something of an anime con on a cruise ship last year in Sept, but a lot of people didn't sign up for it and they cancel it.

Yes, Kawaii Kon is the one in Hawaii. Really, I don't see how that is a crazy idea for a con. Its only two years old and is doing very well. Yes the hotel is right on the beach, but just about all of your con hotels have a pool and some could get you wet that way also. People that are going to cosplay, are not going wear their costume on the beach.

Really, I can't think of any place that's crazy for a con. After all, Israel had an anime con a few years back, so you will find a con just about anywhere.

Cons are crazy in and of themselves. I can't think of any feasible location that could make the things that transpire at a con any stranger.

The Hawaii convention isn't that close to the beach, and my friends who went were so busy with the convention itself that they didn't go elsewhere in costume.

But, as for weird places, as long as there's cosplay, I'd go. XD

Co-op a convention with Burning man.

An oil rig. In a hurricane.

Ruhenheim.

A decomissioned aircraft carrier.

The set of american gladiators... with gladiators.

The peole who run Kawaii Con have also expanded. They un Oklahoma City's Anime Con, Izumicon. Which I think is pretty cool.

ANYWAY. Mech, did you mean a Co-op as in a Grain Elevator? O_o

how about...an airpllane! :D That would be crazy! Think how how hard it would be to move around, and get past security with those crazy weapons. BUT at least, there would be an awesome in-flight anime video on. :D

Co-op like... co-operatively. I've never seen a grain elevator.

A great place for a con just might be on a trans-continental train.

Or maybe in a land filled with vegetable animals.

Umm... For the record, the chariot races took place in either a circus, or a circus maximus. I'd just like to see you TRY to get those horses to run around the inside of an itty-bitty coliseum.:P It's be more like doing donuts.

Anyway, that actually might be a good idea. Just, without the 'to the death' part.:(

I think it'd be cool to turn my whole college campus into a con --or at least our student center...
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal." 2 Corinthians 4:16-18
