Uh, no one got fried. When 4Kids Entertainment got the licensed rights to Sonic X for NA. They used their in-house voice actors and not hired the video game actors.

Say if 4Kids Entertainment lost the rights to Sonic X and FUNimation pick it up. There wouldn't be a contract that says that Funimation has to hire the 4Kids actors. Also, those in house voice actors for 4Kids Entertainment maybe in an union that may not let them work on the dub from another company anyway.

Now, Funimation has a right to work union for its voice actors and that means they can work on any dub that they want to, if another company hires thjem.

This could cause Funimation to hire the game voice cast if they want.

When the sequel to Ah! My Goddess TV series was pick up by ADV. They went and hired the same voice cast that did the work for the first series. They were able to do this, because Media Blasters, which had the rights to the first Ah! My Goddess TV series. They had hired NYAV Post for the ADR Production and NYAV Post is a non union group and that lead ADV films to hire them as the ADR Production for the sequel Ah! My Goddess: Flights of Fancy.
