Show off those Christmas Avatars!

Postby Kawaiikneko » Thu Nov 30, 2006 9:18 pm

It's that time of year again. People are whipping out the ol' Paint program and smacking santa hats on their icons. =] I've seen contests and what not, but I think we need an official show-off thread. ^^; What's your avatar?

I seem to keep coming back to this L icon... it's just so darn cute! Anyhow, I slapped a red hat on him this time. *grin* maybe I'll change it later in the month, but I love him for now.

in case I change it later in the month I've attached my current Christmas icon ^^

mines a revamped version of my last year's avatar..it was a simple cute little reinfox in a window...

Now that simple little reinfox's hair has changed to a pinkish maroon color...and she has discovered the awesome power of wriing messages on class and blowing on it. She has also discovered the awesome land of movement!

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Christmas avatars are only for lame conformists.

<--- is a lame conformist
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

*Glances around and feels left out* --

Actually, I was sporting a new handmade one yesterday but then having not recognised one member due to a change in their avatar thought I might try to avoid the chance of the same thing happening to me by changing back to my old one.

I'll see if I can get around to making a Christmas avatar with the same character, though. ^^ Everyone else's avatars look so good in their seasonal attire.

Well, I am the personification of lame, but I'm not sure about conformist.

I also have this psychedelic homage to the seventies:

Yay for *cough*Who*cough* Christmas avatars!

Yup, it's a stretch. The original avatar was from a community on LJ and I thought Roger was looking somewhat Tiny Tim-ish so I couldn't help having at it in Photoshop ^^

that's all a matter of perspective, just think of it this way, most of the people in the world are not using christmas avatars, in fact, they're not using avatars at all

oh, and in case you were wondering, yes, this is my christmas avatar

Doing this one was about as much fun as I've ever had with a stick. Aside from the joy derived from putting silly hats on Wednesday, we've got a lot of [incredible cool] Santa hats 'round here. Gotta have a few elves.

Here's mine. XD No hat, but her hands were like that in the picture already, and I thought adding a wish list (because it's harder to write "Merry Christmas" in that spot) would be cute. XD So there it is! n_n

Well, I made one out of my old avatar (since I've had it for as long as I've been here, I somehow couldn't bear to change it to something completely different.) I made it Kagura, looking at a Christmas tree (you can see the lights on the tree reflected in her eyes and the glow of the tree on her face.) I don't know if it's any good, but it's all I could come up with. *shrugs*
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

XD, well, thanks MSP, I would have done a santa hat too though if there was enough room on her head for one, :lol:. However, out of necessity comes creativity, right? Ha ha. . .

And I like the one you made a lot, KBMaster! I love the Christmas tree, it's so cool. And CR, the one you made for TD is really cute, I love his cute blinking face, :D.
