This really bugged me.

Ok, I just woke up from a REALLY weird dream. The apocalypse was happening and trumpets had sounded, my mom ken and my bro had heard it and I hadn't I felt so left out. Then (this is the weird part) The sun blew up and I was asked to get on somesort of bus driven by an angel and we were being taken to heaven. But we had to travel the world first so I stayed in my town for a few minutes to say good bye to the guys I really liked, I let out everything to them. Then we went to Wyoming, my dad was even gone and he hasn't been the strongest christian I know. But I had to say bye to my uncle and the other relatives that were left behind. That's where I woke up at.

What really bugs me is that I am saved I have been saved 4 times since I was 5 because I wasn't sure if I really was or not. and now I'm having that huge doubt in the back of my mind that I am still not saved. I dunno my mom won't lemme do it anymore because, like I said, I have done it so many times before.

What am I supposed to do?

I think you shouldn't worry about it. Just a dream.

I mean... I had a dream today that someone replaced my sandles with really tiny ones, trying to make it look like my feet grew O.o And some bug got stuck in it...

Not so much your dream, but this statement, concerns me.

Clearly, you have some very deep-seated concerns about whether or not you are saved. Being "saved" is not a ritual, therefore you really can't do it multiple times. Being "saved" means you have placed your faith in the hope that Jesus Christ is who He said He was and can do what He claims He can do -- deliver you from the penalty of Hell, make you a new creation, place within you the Holy Spirit, make you an heir to God's Kingdom.

If you truly believe Jesus Christ can do this, through the sacrifice He made on the Cross, and proven beyond doubt by His resurrection, then you need not go through another ritual or be "saved" again. You are saved. You salvation is Real - more real than the chair you are sitting on or the keyboard you are typing on. They will pass away, but your Salvation is assured.

Is this, then, salvation as you understand it, or is there another, different salvation that you are referring to?

Dude. . . ette, you don't have to EVER worry again about being saved or not. The bible lays out a verry clear and final statement about it.

in Romans 10:9 it says, "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you WILL BE SAVED."

That's it. No ins, ands, its or buts about it. You're saved, have a unique purpose for your life, and are goin' to heaven to live with God forever. Since you've said you've allready done this, there's no need to doubt at all ever again.

I hope that helped you, even if just a bit. ^_^

God bless!

No I clearly understand...but it's that nagging thought in the back of my head that's saying "What if you aren't..."

The Holy Spirit is a seal on our salvation (Ephesians 1:13). If you believe and you experience His working within you, you are saved, no question about it. We all screw up at times and need to ask God's forgiveness for these things, but if we believe and have faith, there is no need to continue asking for salvation multiple times. If you truly had faith, believed in Christ, and asked for salvation, and you see the working of the Holy Spirit within you, you were saved, no question about it.

Read Romans 8:38-39.St.Paul assures on it that passage that there is nothing in the world or world to come that is able to truely seperate us from the love that
God has for each of us.

I might bring up another point. You may very well be under spiritual attack. Even though he fully knows our salvation is for ever and eternity, satan loves to make us think that it isn't or that we haven't been saved at all. Once we are saved, he can't harm us, but he can whisper things in our ear to try to cause us to stumble.

I went through a similar problem. I don't have a very impressive testimonial about my salvation, and friends of mine who were brought up to think that you aren't saved if you didn't have a life-altering-revelation of a salvation, questioned my salvation. That opened a door for little voices to start nagging me, making me have doubts. Time has passed since then, and through in-depth study of the Bible, and talking with God about the doubts I was having, I've firmly established faith in my salvation. Things may happen that bring doubts back, but I know where this point of faith is, and can come back to it.

Memorize verses that speak of assurance of salvation. Write them on cards and put the cards in places where you will see them frequently, so that you will be constantly reminded. (light switches, mirrors, and door knobs work well)

I also understand how horrible dreams can be, since I am constantly plagued by them. Some may be on the more pleasant end, but others are horrific to the point that I wake up screaming and can't stop. Pray about your dreams. Ask God every night to guard over your unconscious mind and to stop the dreams. Also pray for understanding about the dreams.

Personally, since I've been petitioning God about my dreams, I haven't had a dream that woke me up screaming in years. I may still have dreams that are strange or horrifying, but understanding has helped me look more objectively at them, and lessened the influence they held in my life.

I wrote a lot, sorry. ^^

I agree with every thing that I've read so far. But I would like to remind you to use this doubt as a tool to study the scriptures. As well as contimplate your walk with Christ for the Bible says "daily examine your salvation."

(This is not refering to eternal security but as to how your relationship with God is standing.)

I had similar doubts in my teenage years. To expand upon what ChristianOtaku said, one of the things that helped me come to grips with my own salvation is that there is nothing for me to do.

No actions you take will grant or revoke your salvation. There is nothing for you to do. Your salvation is a gift given by God to those who love and serve Him. Simply believe the Christ is who He said He is and live your life accordingly to the best of your ability.

I also agree with what the others have said, and like one of them stated, the Enemy is real good at making us doubtful about what we should know to be fact concerning our sleves and what we believe. Remember, as it says in the Word, Nothing can seperate us from the Love of God, and Satan knows this. But if he can occuply your thoughts with doubts about your salvation, than he can hinder you from doing what GOD has called you to do. If your mind is full of thoughts on wheiter your saved or not saved...you're kind of dwelling on you, not on Jesus, persay, and you could end up missing something he's trying to Show you, or tell you, or do in your life. Do you understand what I mean?

Also, I believe, and you're welcome to disagree, that dreams have meanings. I admit, some dreams are werid and you probably dream them becasue of a book or movie you've read/watched before going to bed, or it could be that food you ate, but in the same regard, God speaks through dreams. He did it in the Bible, and I believe he does it today. Becasue God is constant. We've all had dreams before. Werid dreams, ordinary dreams, forgetable dreams. And most dreams don't bother you really, with the exclusion of nightmares, of course. I've certainly had my share of the werid and bizarre as far as dreams go, but I've also had dreams where i know it was God. That God was revealing something to me, or showing me a possible outcome...something along that line. So, you may want to ask yourself and God, what the dream could mean? Was God trying to get your attention about something? And if so, what? I have my own suspicions of what God could have been trying to tell you in the dream. You can PM me if you want to know what I felt God was showing me.

Hope this helped,
Aya.

I used to have the "what-if" doubts about my salvation. My pastor told me this, "If you're saved, you're saved. The Devils just messin' with your head. Don't let him tell you is false what Jesus told you is true."

Yes, this is a big time Satan freak out strategy. I used to struggle with it a lot until I basically realized that I wouldn't be struggling with it if I didn't know God (people who don't know God don't really care, you know?)

Also, following Jesus is (as Eugene Peterson says) a long obedience in the same direction. Just keep going on, girl!

I struggled off and on for years with the certainty of my salvation when I was younger. Not so much the question of whether I could lose my salvation once I had it, but whether I ever had it to begin with. I got saved when I was seven, and later I started to wonder if I had really understood everything involved at the time.

Now I've sort of come to the conclusion that salvation isn't as complicated an issue as I was making it out to be, in a manner of speaking.

Marvelously, amazingly simple! Yet, rich and deep and unfathomable!
