I would hope the campus police would turn it over to the local or state police to go after this person instead of doing it theirselves.
I will tell you one thing is that if he goes to traffic court and he gets a judge who doesn't cut any slack. I would hope he doesn't get to drive anything again and if has any outstanding warrants he may not see daylight for a while.

Sorry to dredge this up a bit, but I have news.
They caught him!
I got the call this evening. They issued him citations for leaving the scene of an accident, driving without valid license, and driving without proof of insurance. I have to call the officer back to get the particulars and see if I need to go to the court date or anything. But this should mean that my family will get paid back for the deductable and the insurance company will get paid for the rest.
Also, I get my car back tomorrow afternoon. Yay.
