I don't care. If anything has to take that long to tell a story is too slow IMO. Even if they are fantastic, I will not watch them.

I'm not going to take three to five years just to buy anime dvds of one show.

As for hunter x hunter and yu yu hakusho, I watch about a good 30 eps and it wasn't for me. It maybe fantastic to some, but those two animes were not something that I cared for.

Actually, sometimes a long anime can be a good thing. Take it from me, I'm an Inuyasha fan. What I like best about Inuyasha is that I've watched many characters change dramatically. For example, Shippo used to be so cowardly, but now he seems a little more courageous.

Eh, sometimes a long series can be ok (this is coming from a big Ruroken fan XD), but a lot of times, I prefer the short or normal-sized series. I'll watch a series if it's over 60 eps, especially if it's on TV, but longer series always run the risk of dragging on and on. And on. XD *coughdbcoughzandinucoughyashacoughcough*

To be honest, I strongly favor long stories over short ones. It is definitely possible to be profound with a short story, but at the same time there are things that should be said that should not or cannot be put into an extremely short space. When the theme is epic, I approve of as many episodes as necessary.

That having been said, all of Bleach so far could fit into half as many episodes (at least) if they had tighter directing. I don't like (though I accept) that they are trying to make the storyline last as long as possible. But that is why it isn't worth watching again.

ChristianRonin wrote:are they negative or positive views, UCP? I mean do they praise the vampires at all?

Don't quote me on this. However, I recall that the Protestant nations generally have vampires living as a significant portion of their populations, thus they are accepted as normal people. "Racial" tensions are still high, obviously, but it isn't the same as the Catholic nations where vampires are mostly underground.

From what I looked up of Trinity Blood before the pilot aired it seems that the so called Vampires are some type of alien that just look and act like the classic vampire of folklore. However there seems to be a vast difference in that in classic folklore vampires can only reproduce by feeding off a victim,or as Buffy once said:

I kinda like how the show has a "your different then me but ill accept you for that" later on. Anyone else feel that
the reason for albel wanting to kill cain is not explained clearly at all? Maybe I accidently skipped a part though
I liked the series and it definetly leaves a huge opening for a sequel.

I think Johnny Yong Bosch can pull off being a punk. Don't forget, he played Kaneda in Akira. Kaneda was definitely a punk.

Well, I basically can't respond to that without spoilers...
The vampires aren't the mythological creatures, yes. They're actually humans infected with a virus that gives them enhanced strength and speed but simultaneously destroys their red blood cells at a steady rate. Thus they need to drink blood in order to stave off the virus. For the moment we will ignore the fact that physically drinking blood would only make it pass through the digestive system and likely never come into contact with the virus.
And then there are some real spoilers about Abel and company:
They are actually humans modified with nano-technology, possibly to be more durable than standard people (they live longer than humans or vampires) or likely to combat vampires. Unlike vampires, feeding is not a necessity.
Trinity Blood had some animation that's better than most animes series these days, but I can't say I was captivated by the story or characters at all. Still, I'll give this one a couple more eps before I dismiss it.

Bleach, ah wow. This is just a plain good anime adaption. In some ways, better than the manga! But ya, luv this show

It was pretty stupid of me to judge to dubs for Bleach from a 30 second commercial. I really liked the dubs. At first, as someone else pointed out, I thought JYB wouldn't have enough attitude in his voice to fit Ichigo, but I was throughly convinced otherwise after I saw the first episode. In a way I kinda felt like Vash was going to appear on the screen at times. Ichigo, in my opinion sounded just like a tougher version of Vash.

I also loved Rukia's voice. I am definatley looking foward to future episodes! ^^

Dude. Just because I don't (or anybody) like Rukia's voice doesn't mean I don't like Michelle Ruff. I'm sure Michelle Ruff would be more suited for a different role.

No,her voice fits Rukia perfectly.

I still think though that Bleach should have been aired first and then Trinity Blood since Trinity Blood appears more violent in nature.

New episodes two nights from now, as I'm sure you all know. I probably won't watch either, as I don't like the second episode of Bleach and don't particularly want to see this one in Trinity Blood, either.

Ichigo_89 wrote:Trinity Blood had some animation that's better than most animes series these days, but I can't say I was captivated by the story or characters at all. Still, I'll give this one a couple more eps before I dismiss it.

Give it until episode 4 or so. I'm not so sure episodes two and three (though not necessarily bad episodes) are properly representative of the series.

mitsuki lover wrote:No,her voice fits Rukia perfectly.

I am going to step in and request that this subject be ended now. In my opinion, it can only become mindless butting of heads or absurdly nitpicking character/voice analysis. And I think the world will be a more beautiful place without more of that.

Trinity Blood: I fully expected to hate this. I thought it was just going to be(from my point of view) another dull, serious anime like Witch Hunter Robin and Ghost in the Shell. I was pleasantly suprised. Abel is a pretty cool character. Sort of like Vash without the crybabyness and pacifism(thank God). I'm hoping Christianity(or at least Catholicism since we Protestents rarely get any attention in anime....yes, I know there are exceptions) will continue to be portrayed in a good light. It's kinda cool that the main character is a Christian and a super vampire(or Crusnik[sp?]). I've seen vampire hunters in anime that are human, dampir, and vampire, but I've never seen a vampire that feeds off other vampires. Anyway, it was a pretty cool first episode. I guess I'll post my thoughts on Bleach later. So tired....

Father Abel appears to be a bit naive at times.Like yesterday when he thought the
vampire really was a nun and trusted her looks instead of looking deeper.

As to Bleach, well once I make up my mind on a character I can be rather stubborn so I won't be changing my mind about Rukia in any time.
btw:I think her advise to Ichigo was rather practical concerning the Hollows on two accounts:
1)Attacking from behind means they aren't as likely to be able to mount as quick a
counterattack.
2)It also saves the Soul Reaper from the evident shock of learning who the Hollow had been in life.As was shown Ichigo was rather shaken when he recognized the
Hollow as the dead brother of his classmate.

Watched about 10 minutes of Trinity Blood last night. The TVMA rating sorta chased me away, too. Either way, in the 10 minutes I watched, I wasn't crazy about it. Seemed a little spooky.
It was the one with the little girl witch that touches the priest on the forehead and he gets a vision that scares him. It was called "Witch Hunt". That's all I know about the episode.
As for Bleach, I was too tired to stay up. Besides, if I stay up past 12:30, I turn into a pumpkin. :dizzy: The commercial didn't look too interesting, but I guess that's all a matter of taste. If I decide to give it a chance, I'll either tape it or Neflix it (once Netflix gets it).

I think this anime hits my absolute limit of gore tolerance. I'm a little slow I must admit to not have realized a vampire anime on adult swim was going to be this bloody. If I didn't love everything else, I probably couldn't stomach it. Speaking of things I love, did anyone else catch this line?

That has to be the best line I have ever heard in anything. That was truly inspired, pricelessness defined. In my opinion anyway.

i agree with what mr. smarty pants said earlier in the thread. i just don''t think the english voices convey the same emotion as they do in japanese. i almost cried when i heard rukia's opening line. just go to you tube and watch them side by side. i'm so glad they kept the original opening though, i was going to be mad if they didn't.
