But some of us have been there :)

I have dual American and Australian citizenship ... does that qualify for this thread?

I am American but my root are sorta strange (or at least my friends think so.)
I am half Polish (I love perogees) and half Purto Rican ( Techniclly it is part of America.)

I look alot more Polish. I kinda dislike that because no one believes that I am Purto Rican.

hmmm....well....I went to Canada....once....several years ago. And...uh.....my Dad's in Wellington right now. ^^ *lol* I think calling someone "American" is funny, because, well, what is an american? I'm German/Finnish/British, but live here, and am therefore called "American". Just because you live somewhere, does that make it your nationality? *goes off to think about this*

As a really rough rule, I'd say nationality is based upon where you are born.

I'm American, which means naturally that I'm a hodge-podge of ethnic backgrounds. ^_^ I've got Irish, French Canadian, and Iroquois Indian. My friends think I look Polynesian. The reason I post here is because I wasn't born in the US, but in a US army base in Germany. So I'm an Army brat. :p

Proud of it.

Guess my nationality by reading this joke:

A Pinoy went to a bar in Hawaii to have some drinks. At the counter, he sat next to the famous Hollywood director, Steven Spielberg who was already ahead by a quart of alcohol. After a couple of beers, the Pinoy sensed that Spielberg was glaring at him. Suddenly, in a flash the Pinoy crashed down from his stool, felled by a vicious hook from the director.

Picking himself up, he yelled, "Wat da hell is dat por?"

Spielberg ranted: "That's for the bombing of Pearl Harbor, you #@@!!##! My dad perished in that bombing!"

"Tang Na! I am not Jafanese, you stufid Nincomfoof! I am Filipino!" exclaimed the Pinoy.

The inebriated director replied, "Yeah yeah yeah ....Japanese, Burmese, Chinese, Vietnamese, Filipino ...you are all the same."

Regaining his composure, the Pinoy dusted off his white pants, straightened the collar of his loud bird-of-paradise printed shirt, took his seat and ordered a double R&B from the bartender. After a few sips, the Pinoy stood up and delivered his best Jackie Chan karate kick, sending the director flying halfway across the room.

"What was that for?!!" shouted the surprised Spielberg from about fifteen feet away.

"Dat's por da sinking of da TITANIC! I had my grandpader on dat shif!" the Pinoy answered back.

"You ignorant Chink! The TITANIC was sunk by an iceberg!" exclaimed the director.

"Yah yah yah...Iceberg, Sfielberg, Carlsberg... you are all the same."

Hmmm... Does this count???
I was born in Fort Worth, TX but my father was born in England to a Japanese father and a British mother...(Japan is bigger than England :p)
Anyway, I'm pretty much a Japan fanatic... I speak a little Japanese and try to learn more everyday and I plan on majoring in Asian studies an becoming a professional translator (maybe I will get to translate anime!!!;)) But anyway I plan on living in Japan for at least 5-10 years if not more

Actually, I don't think California was, I know it was a territory but the only reason Texas was its own country is because the settlers fought Mexico and won independence, but California was won in an American/Mexican war so it went directly to an American territory.
And you don't seem to understand

And all the fears you hold so dear
Will turn to whisper in your ear
And you know what they say might hurt you
And you know that it means so much
And you don't even feel a thing

I am falling, I am fading
I have lost it all

Yeah, German and Australian. An interesting mix kinda like Spike. BTW Spiegel means mirror in german,.. but u probably already knew that.

And I don't think your nationality depends on where you're born, but a number of factors.. is your parents, your blood line, PoB aswell but its not the of highest importance.... a Horse born in a garage doesn't make it a car does it?
