Has anyone seen Pretear?

Preater is not like any other magical girl story. I like it because Mannen (Ice preater knight) has SonGokus voice from Saiyuki. :grin:

And Hayate (Wind preater knight) has Goyjo voice from Saiyuki. ^-^ Both English version. Sasame (voice preater knight) is cool too! Goh (Fire pretear knight) too!! Those are my fave from the series. The others are cool but not as much as those 4. :eyeroll:

I love the part when Hayate meet Himeno for the first time it was funny!! :lol:

I would love to read the manga it looks aswesome!!! Preater remainds me so much of Card Captor Sakura ^^

Yeah but only the first episode. I think it is very cool and it makes me want to go get it, but I can't.

I know how you feel. However Pretear is suppose to be out already. You could be able to find it at Best Buy, Fye, and many other stores those are the only ones that I can remember at the moment :sweat:

huh? What's all these cute pics doing, here? oh well...someone got a sudden kawaii/cuteness syndrome. Isn't there a thread for stuff like this? :lol:

Anyway, I previously said that Pretear looked like another typical magic girl story. Well, I had this first impression coz I was really getting sick of such formulas then.

Now that I look back at it, it still does have a magical girl formula but I don't think it's a bad thing. The art is gorgoeus (I wanna draw like that!) and I like all the characters so far. Even the step mom isn't that bad. :brow:

Prefer the manga to the anime though. I mean, why did they change the way the character looks? Hayate, Goh and Sasame looked just fine in the manga. This series looks potentially entertaining IMO.

I've seen the 1st episode, and I thought it was pretty good, but I'm not sure if I'm going to buy it yet. I think I'll wait for a rewiew or two.

Finally got around to seeing this, and now that it's out, has anyone bought it yet (and wants to say how they liked it *hopeful*)? I only watched the first ep off the Newtype DVD.

i watched the whole thing in the past summer(in japanese), and it was really good ^^ it does get depressing in some parts, but overall, i think the story is pretty good. my favourite character is also mannen, but i detest sasame for some reason lol.

It's about a 16 year old girl named ... I can't remember her name ... (someone in the IM just helped me out) Himeno - that's her name. Her father has recently married a very wealthy heiress. So Himeno is trying her best to get to know and love her new stepmother and her two new stepsisters. She's having a rough time of it, but her perky attitude doesn't let her get down for long. Elsewhere, red snow is falling all over Japan. The red snow is really seeds of evil that will sprout into demon larva. If these larva hatch, a monster will appear and suck the leafe (I don't think that's how it's spelled, but it means "life-energy") out of any living thing it comes in contact with. The monsters are gathering up life energy for the Princess of Darkness.

However, seven Leafe Knights from another realm/dimension appear, telling Himeno that she's the Pretear. She must fight the demons by "preating" with one of the Leafe Knights. Basically, preating is a magical transformation where Himeno and the knight become one (aka, magic girl transformation where the knight becomes pure energy and the Pretear can use their power such as wind, sound etc.). She also gets a new outfit depending on which Knight she preats with.

Sasame is cool. Would the reason you dislike him be that he kiss one of the Himeno's stepsister while the other one like's him? ^^ I like Sasame so far. Hayate is awesome!! This series remains me so much of Card Captor Sakura and the outfits are kinda the same and have different colors,and the whole magical girl thing.

haha, i thought i wasn't the type who would indulge too much in the mahou shoujo genre, but i went ahead and watched this one (partly because i had no choice...long story ^^;;). funny and amusing pretty much describes it. my fave is the pretear kinght with the power of fire (whose name i keep forgetting, since it was a long time ago).

(though my mom and my bro don't seem to like it for some reason)

I've really enjoyed the second dvd as well. I noticed that Himeno's hair is so unique - color and style. Thanks for the pics, chibi_chan, the manga art looks awesome!
