Cross topical - Computer and translation

Postby Bobtheduck » Wed Aug 30, 2006 10:20 pm

Can someone translate this for me? It's an alert window that pops up now whenever I hilight something... What does this mean?

I didn't put it in computer because someone capable of translating would likely come here before they would go to the computer forum...

Just guessing here, but are you by chance trying to highlight pictures or text to copy off of a webpage? It that's the case, it's probably telling you the pictures/whatever it is you're highlighting is Copyrighted or Copy-protected. That's just a guess.

So far I've got:

"______ (these kanji look SO familiar though!) eraaga ___ (the stars in the top of the kanji remind me of "mahou" but I doubt this one is it) uremashita"

I know the kanji for "ure" can be read differently, but it's been over a year since I was in JPN 12 to remember it^^ So the bottom line is I'm REALLY not sure (and bad with tryign to make sense of katana words too^^)

Yes, I also thought they looked familiar, but I couldn't find them in any of my books. Side note: Tenshi No Ai, do you speak Japanese? I gather you do from what you wrote? I'm indeveroring to learn, the reason why I asked.

The closest I can get is, "this produced an error message."

I'm pretty sure " エラー" (eraa) means "error." If that is "uremashita" then it means, uh, sold? Ripened? Produced?

If that's the case, then the message itself isn't very helpful. If it's NOT the case, then I'm not very helpful. :D

発 can be read as HATSU and HOTSU for onyomi. There's quite a few kunyomi for it as well but when it's used together with something like 生 the つ(tsu) becomes smaller so the whole thing is read as はっせい (Hassei) (Think it's the same for verb form)
Random I know, but 発 can also be used as a counter for gunshots.
