So I saw the FMA Movie at Theatres and the oddest thing happened....

Postby Tommy » Mon Aug 28, 2006 10:53 am

Okay, I invited Monkey J. Luffy to come with me and drive an hour to see the FMA movie and perhaps the best movie theatre ever in our state, Randolph Theatre. We got the tickets, bought out popcorn and entered the theatre and sat next to some guy who seemed to have known his stuff. I commented to Josh (MJL): "Dude, I have never felt this way befoe, I feel........normal." The guy says, "If you're looking for someone normal, you've come to the wrong place."

We saw girls with blonde hair put it in a single braid and wear red sweatshirts and alot of guys where FMA gear.

Soon, cosplays of Cloud Strife, Edward Elric, Winry Rockbell, and Colonel Mustang waltzed on in. The Cloud Strife one looked professional, I was dazzled. The Edward one looked horrible and I made a lame joke about Mustang looking more like Ross, since a girl was dressed as him. Winry just looked like a casual girl.

The movie finally started and it was a slightly annoying yet good experience.
When a character showed up, people would cheer so loud it would hurt. When a lame joke was made, people would laugh so loud it would hurt. When Hitler showed up, people would boo so loud it would hurt.

When we left, my Dad was waiting to pick me and Josh up. The Theater is big and has numerous floors and we took the escalator leading up. My Dad said he saw Cloud (he's seen Advent Children) come up the escalator and remarked to himself "Their movie's over."

So I met up with Cloud in the parking lot and just said:
Tom: Hey Cloud.
Cloud: 'Ey.

So now for the movie, I will leave this thread to discuss it as well. I'll give my input after someone else does.

Heh... oh man! At least it wasn't as bad as this one thing I saw where like EVERYONE dressed up when they waited in line to see Star Wars ep. 2. It was pretty sad^^ There was a wedding that went on... and then of course the odd LotR and Star Trek fan would make random appearances.

Why would Cloud be there though? It's kinda... I dunno odd. Either way to dress up just to see a movie would be something in itself^^ Nerd gatherings a-plenty! Heh, I can say that cause I'm a nerd myself, but not to the point where I'd dress up as a character to go see a movie^^

I would never cosplay to a movie, however, if someone had painted a cardboard box silver and wrote "Alphonse" on it, my day would've been made.

I would have given anything to have seen that.Too bad no-one showed up dressed as Hawkeye,Armstrong or Hues.I think Armstrong would be the hardest since a cosplayer would have to have the right physique for him.I mean you can't picture a shrimp trying to be Armstrong. On the other hand I could see someone trying to be Fury.Though as I say I would have loved to see someone dress up as Hawkeye.

that happened when i went to watch the opening premiere of pirates of the carribean 2, though it wasn't as bad since there wasn't any cheering or any of that stuff. but there was a lot of cosplaying going on and picturs and people dressed as pirates and stuff.

"Believers do not pray with the view of informing God about things unknown to Him, or of exciting Him to do His duty, or of urging Him as though He were reluctant. On the contrary, they pray in order that they may arouse themselves to seek Him, that they may exercise their faith in meditating on His promises, that they may relieve themselves from their anxieties by pouring them into His bosom; in a word, that they may declare that from Him alone they hope and expect, both for themselves and for others, all good things."

I wish I could have seen that. I like FMA, one of my now fav. shows.

Also, Winry sometimes wears that black jacket and miniskirt with the white tank top and black boots. Ever noticed that very few animes and cartoons actually change clothing?

XD That's awesome! Though that Cloud one was weirder than most. I guess he's famous enough that guys can just show up as him to any anime movie premier.

Wow. I thought the only movie anyone dressed up for was Rocky Horror! I wish FMA movie had been here. Or anywhere in FL for that matter. I'd have driven pretty far to get to see it in the theater!
