Childhood Fears

Talk about anything in here.

When I was little I was scared of heights. My brother would get a wooden crate and put it on top of a black flooring. Then he'd put me on it I'd be afraid to walk off because I thought the blackflooring was a pitless floor.

Another fear is the pool...When I see those water vacumms in the pool I freak out and think they are an octopus or a shark...

I used to be afraid of gremlins. Like if I didn't get in bed fast enough after turning out the light at night, the gremlins would...well...show up, I guess. I really wasn't afraid of them doing anything other than showing up. Weird, eh?

Really? I LOVE DOGS! Mine died in a truck accident. I wish I could have yours. Hehe... My cousin is scared of them too.

I used to fear stairs

1. The ocean (because of the sharks)
2. Something bad happening to me (i.e kidnapped)
3. The dark..
When I walk from the living room to my room I need the hallway light on. In my room I'm fine if it's dark.
4. Basements with those creppy stairs
5. HEIGHTS, I can't stand them DX
Whatever the sentiment, Whatever the expression

I was afraid of SPIDERS!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, I still am, but not as terrified.
Have faith
-From somewhere in the Bible, and I agree with it

-God will only give you what you can take. He will not overwhelm you.
-From somewhere in the Bible

-Your faith becomes stronger when it's tested.
-I saw a Chinese guy with a cross on his restaurant desk in America. That's so cool. You can do that here. Not so much China.

I've recently been learning that I don't need to be "loud and pushy" to Evangelize; just living it out is enough witness. The problem was that I grew up around strong Evangelists (Korean Christians) and they were really into getting people involved and setting out to Evangelize, and me being a a yes-man (or yes woman) I was into trying to convert people.
I've been learning this lesson over the years, but have been trying to be pushy. Now I'm trying to ease off.

Zombies. They lived in my mom's closet, at the bottom of my stuffed animal box, which was secretly a portal to the Zombie World, and they would always try to eat me at night. The only thing that could fend them off was my toy lightsaber, because they hated light.
Seriously.

:eyeroll: I had waaaay too active an imagination.

But on a more serious note, since the age of about 4 I've had a fear of sharks. Still hate them to this day, but when I was little I was positively terrified of them. I even got scared of our pool for a while, because I wondered if they could get in there (I was 6, okay?!). It was all from watching a stupid documentary on shark attacks that I shouldn't have while my dad and my brother were out scuba diving. :wow!: :eyeroll:

Lets see here.

The Police Helicopter. Our police helicopter has a distinct rotor sound that I can pick up and tell if it was the police or if it was a random helicopter. The reason I was so afraid of it was because of that distinct noise. It would always wake me up from my dreams and/or change my dreams into nightmares. >.< So it wasn't really a fear, more like annoying.

The dark. Still am afraid of it. When I think about it, I'm more afraid of the sudden dark because you can't see anything. However, once I have my eye adjusted to the dark, I love it. ^-^

Spiders. I have a reason to be though. When I was 3 before I could remember, I was bitten by a brown recluse spider. Yep, I got blood poisoning. If it wasn't for my mom who saw the thing right before it disappeared, she probably wouldn't have rushed EXTREMELY fast to the emergency room at night and I wouldn't be alive today. O.O I must say, I have an interest in spiders because I watched the discovery channel and (along with my mom) I found out that there are a lot of spiders that eat some of the nastier critters that can do damage to your property (aka termites, other small insects that tear up the lawn, etc.). So I usually get interested in a spider and try to find out what it is before I get the impluse to kill it.

Water battles. Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time, God or War, Shadow of the Colossus, etc. The monsters that you face are either good at swimming, are a part of the water, or a combination of the two. I was always afraid of water battles because, I mean looking at it realistically, a lot of weaponry and magic don't do much good against a water. And then I realized that electricity will always kill and immobilize water-anything. XD

Monsters under my bed? Kinda. Except when I got my own bed, it was a small twin bed. I remember looking under my bed at night really quick (look left, look right) and if a monster were to attack me, they would also have to be invisible and a part of the surface (which is illogical, so that sorta dispersed my fear instantly). However, I had an experience of falling off my bed. Amazingly, I caught myself and tried to push myself back up, by finally gave up and steeled myself into thinking "I'm going to hit the ground, it's going to hurt". I did, and it hurt but I made sure not to toss around on my bed that much anymore.

Undeads in Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time. I hated those cause of the screams they make. Then I learned the Sun Song and got the Big Goron Sword and got my revenge. *evin grin*

Devil May Cry games. Self-explainitory. XDD

Resident Evil corridor. When the Playstation was the best graphic console around at the time, my friends rented Resident Evil and decided to use the sound system and make the volume fairly high. There is one scene in there where there is no music and you hear your footsteps. Turn a corner, and there is the exit. Right as you pass the windows, they blow in and 3 dogs come chasing after you. I couldn't sleep for a week after that. O.O;;;

One of my dreams. I had a dream once where I was looking out of my window when I see a streaking missle over the sky. It blows up about 100 miles away, but it was the first "Black Hole" bomb. It made an extremely weird and terrifying noise (kinda like "not-of-this-world" noise) and started sucking everthing up. I think I have some of the weirdest dreams really. Even if I realized that a dream was a dream, they would instantly turn into nightmares for some reason as if to say "you weren't supposed to figure that out". I finally had a dream where I recognized it as a dream, but I was able to control the wind. Something came after me (machine, monster, dogs, anything, you name it.), and I raised my hand and pulled down an F5 tornado. And demolished everything in sight. ^-^ My dreams have behaved since then. XDD

I still have a fear of things, but usually it's because I don't understand how it works. So as soon as I learn about something that I'm new to or I don't understand, I immediately research and learn about it in order to understand it. I especially love disproving unexplained phenominon. ^-^

This one was kind of brought back up after seeing Snakes on a Plane, but I used to worry that a snake might come up out of the toilet while I was trying to use the bathroom, when I was about oh, four or five.

I used to be deathly afraid of the dark, and when I was about 13, I was afraid of social situations. That one sounds so ridiculous now, but I would just get so nervous around people my own age (but not my friends...it was weird).

I can't believe someone else was as afraid of escalators as I was!!!

Other childhood fears:
1) Clowns. Any clown. (Sorry to those of you with clown ministries, I just can't get past the creepy, evil clown thing.)
2) Snakes coming up out of the toilet.

Roaches! Still am...*shudder*
Raid.
Big dogs with no apparent owner...still am...
Pepper.
Mold.
Natural PERFECTION. Like bugs lining up in PERFECT rows.
Boats...but I LOVED plane rides.
Being alone.
Silence.
My mum when she was mad...lol

Mmm...I think that's about it.
I believe in the sun even if it isn't shining. I believe in love even when I am alone. I believe in God even when he is silent.

I remember becoming convinced when I was about 4 that there was some kind of wolf entity living in the wall on the stairs. I don't know how this happened - maybe there was some odd mark there or something.

I wasn't afraid of escalators, but I was dang well near terrified of elevators. I did NOT like that sensation. I'd feel like I was still on it a few minutes afterwards. Can't say I'm a big fan even now.
