why so many newbies lately?

why so many newbies lately?

Postby rocklobster » Thu Aug 17, 2006 7:13 am

I've noticed this site has attracted lots of newbies lately. Not that I'm complaining, but I was wondering why the sudden surge in membership.

Summer's still in for a bit for college students, and probably some high school students. I'd say that's another reason. I'm glad for all the new members, though. It's cool to have some new people running around. I love this site dearly, and want to see it keep growing.

They come in spurts... I noticed sometimes there won't be any for a while, then sometimes like 5 all come in like one day.

Yep, I agree. Summer's a good time to join a forum, since there's no real responsibility for most (especially the middle-high school crowd), and it's a good time to get to know everyone. :thumb:

It's because people are washing out of cooler sites, and the cooler sites ban in batches.

Then those who finally get in to the bottom rung tell their friends about CAA, because they weren't instabanned for their uncoolness, and thus we end up with the "waves".

And of course, we also get people who don't know of any cooler sites, so they joing here thinking in their naivety that this place is the coolest thing around.

We very well may be the coolest thing around, but I hope some newbies realize soon that it happened because of following rules and respect. :eyeroll: As long as they stay civil and at least try to be coherent, I'll tolerate them.

Well I joined because I was tired of being on anime sites/ forums where the talk would constantly become dirty or the content was questionable. So one day (lol last wednesday) it clicked in my head to search "christian anime" found this site and love it. Now I'm telling all the kids at my school (the ones who like anime) to join this site so that they can hear God's word at the same time

o.O

Actually, we're not really getting statistically more than usual. We *do* have more active posters among our newbies, but that's a different thing.
