Anyone else want to show your High School hates? :bang:

Hmmm... advice: Wear red clothing with communist ensigna patterned all over our body. Declare your goal to become an evil third-world overlord at your first teacher/faculty adviser/whathaveyou conference. Carry around a large bazooka... or if your school's zero tolerance policy makes that unacceptable... carry around a spork from the cafeteria and mutter Sephiroth and Emperor Palpatine quotes everywhere you go.

I guarantee you'll make friends and gain respect!!!!!

From personal experience, I hit off with my faculty adviser from day one, causing him to reserve me a "seat of honor" at tests, and allow me to do conferences of E-mail and turn in assignments whenever I want.... Bribery is always good too...

Or if you want to stand out go around with a t'shirt with Ann Coulter's face on it and tell everyone how much of a political goddess she really is and how you enjoy
reading her books.

I don't think that most high school students would get it. I mean, the students in our civics classes were completely unaware of our election in January.

Hey feel blessed. From the looks of it you didn't get totally killed by homework yet. I just came home from my first day taday around four-ish and just finished my homework at like 10:30. Geez...the text book stuff wasn't so bad (just annoying) but one page never seemed so long until you don't double space or use Courier New...T.T...I think I need some adjective donations...Darn my concise composition!

But yeah, I think it's a rule that they make people run all the away across the school for the next class and then laugh while they squirm in their chairs and wish for the abundant bathroom breaks available in elementary and maybe middle school.

Well my teachers aren't evil at least...at least I hope so...one of 'em is the pastor O.o...

My #1 high school hate is definately tied between the oversized books we never finsh and the tons of homework along with the essay-happy teachers.

Have fun fresh meat (oh yeah that's international...XD)

With all the fresh meat comments I think I am now getting kinda SCARED,...those teachers looked really hungry...at least the FRESHMAN HUNT isn't real...or is it... I need to learn to run faster. *=* I know it's gonna be cool these 4 years I just hope my teachers don't figure out I was in gifted last year,...I like it when people don't expect much of me...less work, plus when I want to show off I can suprise them, but I ain't giving up my cover yet!

High School was hell for me but don't let it be for you. If your bullied, make sure the teachers know of it and actually do something about it. Try and stand up against the bullies. Go into subjects with the right attitude and you'll enjoy it more, even the subjects you don't like.

I've heard of freshmen before, but we don't use this term in Australia. What's it exactly mean?

Over here, there are four names for the grades in high school (9th-12th in most): Freshman (9th), Sophomore (10th), Junior (11th), and Senior (12th). Fresh "meat" is a term used to agitate the Freshmen, I guess. I never heard it when I was a Freshman. XD Anyways, those same titles are used in the four years of college, Freshman being the first year, Sophomore the second, and so forth.

Okay, thanks. In Australia we have Year 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Years 11 and 12 are Senior years. There's no special name for Year 8's other than 'new.' (lol)

I think we had 45 minutes... or was it 40?

Puguni wrote:Also, try running to your locker, which is on one side of the school, and then running not only to the other side, but also a good 100-150 feet outside the school, frantically trying to find the right trailer in which your class is taking place, all in a whopping 7 minutes.

Yeah, my school was huge in area, and if you were on the tennis courts, and ran to your locker on the opposite end of the school, then ran to your class which happened to be near the tennis courts, it would take about 7 minutes. And the school's expanded since I've been there too, so it takes slightly longer for some...

Well...at least you'll be in shape, right?

That's what I love about a small college. Everyone else is like "omg, I have to drive across campus for my next class." and I'm like "um...I have to go upstairs and/or across the hall. That's it." hee.

High school hates?? I GET to list them??

The JERkS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I assume some of them did drugs and cussed and and wore bad clothes, but then they asked ME to! I understand that I had an old experience, it was something that God put me through in order to "mature me", so that I would get experience^^ :thumb:  But the fact that those people wanted me to do the bad things, I didn't like.

I hated the peer pressure!!!!!!!!
Man I hate peer pressure!
Don't worry, man, you'll get through it! You can survive high school! So many others did, and I did too! You can do it! And if you think you can't, rely on God! With Him, anything is possible!

ps. To those people and their "cuss, wear different clothes", I said no.

-I saw a Chinese guy with a cross on his restaurant desk in America. That's so cool. You can do that here. Not so much China.

I've recently been learning that I don't need to be "loud and pushy" to Evangelize; just living it out is enough witness. The problem was that I grew up around strong Evangelists (Korean Christians) and they were really into getting people involved and setting out to Evangelize, and me being a a yes-man (or yes woman) I was into trying to convert people.
I've been learning this lesson over the years, but have been trying to be pushy. Now I'm trying to ease off.

i have my moments of being exceedingly angry with my teachers over pointless assingments and impossible workloads but hey, i really enjoy it overall. and it goes by so quickly. VERY QUICKLY. it seems long while you're in it, but take a step back and you'll be amazed. enjoy it and don't sweat the small (or big) stuff. just keep praying, and have fun. you'll miss it later on.

Pfffft 30 minute lunches?! XD We have twenty minutes to eat and I have to walk across a busy street to get to my classes within five minutes. And it's just LOVELY during the winter with the ice and the cold and the rain and the snow and our wonderful uniform skirts. =]

But in all seriousness, don't let the first few days get you down. All the new stuff in high school is just stuff you have to get used to. It's not that the teachers are evil, it's just that you're expected to be more mature than you were in middle school. And with time you'll figure out the best way to manage all your books and find the fastest way to each class. It's all about growing up... we can't be catered to our entire lives.

Man,...I thought more people would post about actual things they didn't like. Instead, I got some good advice,...I love how God brings good things out of stuff like this. If I hear things like this from people who have actually LIVED THROUGH IT ..It helps. Thanks. :thumb:
Just for the record,....They are cheating us out of our rights now!!! Ive written an essay on this and am going to change something. Pray that this works so we can pray in class again. (and that people will shut up about the dress code.^^)

Now, to all you children starting high school within the next few weeks or have started already, allow me to fully express my sorrow at the ringing in of the new school year:

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAI'MOUTOFSCHOOLSUCKERSBAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

*ahem*

Anyway, I honestly don't miss school that much. I'm glad for what it did for me, but I'm also glad it's over. Little tip, though: avoid drama like the plague. Nothing will draw you off of your studies and concentration like a good old fashioned soap opera. Don't put so much weight on relationships, because they're usually not worth it at this point in life. Take it from someone who's been there, done that, has multiple t-shirts.

Your sympathy for your fellow man warms my heart.

What did I hate about High School? The writing assignments. Which may explain why I had to take Rhet and Comp II twice before getting a B. *was homeschooled*

Well. The only thing that really annoys me at my school is how the "popular" people tend to look down on anyone that doesn't conform to their ways and thinkings.

This is my senior year of high school, and I've only been going about two weeks. But I've still already had a couple of moments that have... slighted me.

Mostly though, I just hang around my friends (aka: the people I trust and who accept me as I am) Theres a small group of about six of us. We get by together just fine. And if someone tries to pick on/bother one of us, the others are there to help in an instant.

The only thing I would say is don't try to do more than you think you can do. I don't even do that much and every day is a trial to stay awake for the whole time. -_- But of course... I'm a lazy bum who needs excess amounts of sleep. >_>; So you might not want to listen to me? .-.
