III and IV want to read it too.

Yeah, it does look good. Is it like Bleach at all considering Tite Kubo (sp?) made it?

You should be forewarned that it ends abruptly and without any resolution whatsoever in volume four. I'm sure Kubo Tite had a lot of things planned and his beginning looks interesting, but as it is Zombie Powder is definitely unfinished (and will never be otherwise).

yeah, like uc pseudonym said, the ending's pretty horrible. overall, the series isn't all that bad. there's (if i can remember), no actual nudity although one of the characters has pretty large breasts. the violence can get rather bloody but, if you've read bleach, then it probably won't be too new to you. the language can't be too bad if it's being edited by viz. so overall, it's an excellent manga, that, sadly, ends pretty horribly. i'd still recommend it though.

Yeah, I read it. I'm not generally thrilled with manga that end abruptly like this, but his beginning was at least interesting.

Also, I believe Viz is going to include some of Tite Kubo's early one-shots in the Zombie Powder releases so I'll probably flip through it in the store just for that.

i think, the reason it ended so horribly was because the author was forced to end it or something like that because it wasn't popular enough. but, i'm glad that tite kubo was able to release another manga that was extremely successful.

Yes. The ending is not in any way Kubo Tite's fault, the manga was merely canceled before its time.

Same here. I'm curious about some of those titles.

I started reading Zombie Powder before it was licensed and then some kind soul warned me that it just cuts off (with no real ending). So I stopped before I got to any kind of cliff hanger. I'd say it's definately worth reading the first volume or two. Kubo Tite's humor and art style are still there, even if they aren't as polished as they are in Bleach.

yeah. it's a good manga to read when you're bored cause you can probably finish the entire series in 75 minutes or so (since there's not that much talking). it really sucks that the last volume introduces all these new characters but you never get to really see them in action. and the main characters never get their pasts explored even though the last volume brings up a lot of questions about that.

I'm surprised Viz would license a series that is unfinished, like this one.

I think I said it in another thread, but I'm basically certain that Viz is bringing this over for money and money alone. Because Bleach is popular, people will buy it regardless of how good it is. Though I do notice that they aren't exactly stressing the fact that it cuts off abruptly...

Yeah... At least the main character is so cool... Maybe it will keep people from being- no that would make it worse because we'd get to see no more of him.
IT's kinda funny, in an old issue of Shonen Jump Zombie Powder was in a Manga Explorer article and they said it adruptly cuts of after the fourth volume. Not a word of that now.

CT Smith is probably my favorite manga character of all time, actually, and one of the major reasons I wish Zombie Powder had been finished. I especially liked how he was very dangerous despite not being flashy (no chainsaw-sword or black flame like Gamma) and he gives you the sense that he isn't threatened in the slightest. I wonder about his past or what he would be like taking a fight seriously.

Right. That is sort of what I was alluding to before.

Did he make a desperate attempt to wrap it up or was it just left unfinished?

He just left it unfinished.

Given the epic/adventure feel it had, he couldn't seriously have wrapped it up in a short amount of time.

Nope, you accomplished it. I don't even know why I asked, since I knew the answer before you told me, but I wanted to be 100% sure since Monkey J. Luffy is the one who informed me, and I find UC to be less igorant of that topic and I happen to be ignorant this is a really run-on sentence.

I bought all 4 volumes at Nan Desu Kan yesterday. Read the first one while waiting in line for the cosplay contest. XD

Pretty cool so far; too bad it never finished. Still, it'd be interesting to see what happened. CT is the greatest.
