If you were ever given the chance to do a professional christian anime...

How would you do it? Lets say that you could choose between some of Japan's best animation studios, such as Production IG, Gonzo Digimation, Kyoto Animation, Studio Ghibli, Studio 4C, and BONES Animation(I'm sure there are many others, but those are the main ones that I can think of off the top of my head). I didn't list Gainax, because their animations are a little well.....wacked in head so to speak. Gainax's animators are very talented, but there shows are just so (for the lack of a better word)bizarre

How would you do the plot?
Would it be set in more of a realistic setting, fantasy setting, or something in between?
How big of a cast of characters would you have?
Would it be a film or series(or both)?
Would you enlist the help of a well known character designer to help you out?

You know guys, stuff like that.

This is just something neat I've been thinking about asking you guys for a while.

The fight scenes would also be heavy metal.

Steve Blum would be the voice of Samson, much to CapnNick's chagrin. I think it'd be pretty sweet.

Come to think of it, you could also do this movie about that time the Fonz single-handedly took on Germany in WW2 and won.

The plot would be some sort of shojo. Probably Ruth's story.

I would do a series on the life of David. It's got everything an epic anime needs... action, drama, romance, war, betrayal, sex, and nudity.

I probably wouldn't really do the sex and nudity, though.

Alternitavely, I'd do an anime version of Revelations. But not like Left Behind. (AKA Apocalypse Lite. ) My version would be much darker.

I'd do a shounen series based on the premise that a teenager is called to be sort of a superhero [no goofy costumes] and his trust in God to see him through brings him through the many dangerous situations he is called to. Basically, he's a superhero without powers. God is the one who protects him. A recurring theme is his struggle with following God's will, since the protection wanes when he strays from God's will. And I would probably pick Gainax to do it.

Mine would definately be on the darker side...I'm thinking I'd do something set in a post apocoliptic world. It'd be basically like fuedal Japan/futuristic theme...It wouldn't be outright "christian" but I'd base it on sound biblical theology.

I would get someone like Rumiko Takahashi to write the script and it would be a
shojo series centered around the life of the Virgin Mary.

I'd make a series about a kid's daily adventures with his guardian angel, who only he can see and hear. The angel would try to guide him and constantly quote from the Bible. He'd probably talk like medival people (saying "thou", "thee"), stuff like that. Of course, he'd sometimes mess up and sometimes not do what the angel tells him. I'd get Bones or Ghibli.

I wouldn't do one. The Bible is enough, an anime with some heavy basis in Christianity (pro, anyway) would be panned by thick-headed otaku dorks no matter how good it was.

I would like to write, direct, and design the characters for an OAV or a short series. It wouldn't be based on a biblical story, and wouldn't contain any blatantly obvious theology or Christian symbolism, but it would be by a Christian and reflect Christian ideals..

It'd take a lot of convincing to get me to want to do something that could, from the very first glance, be hailed as Christian, but hopefully whatever creative enterprise I undertake in the future will show my beliefs from underneath the surface.

If I did a movie it would probly be a shoujo/ fantasy/romance/action about a young girl who was once a slave to a evil king and then becomes a servent in anouther kingdom who waits for thier prince to return and she slowly falls inlove with one of the servent boys.
It would probly be in between Fantasy and reality.
Probly not that big of a cast of characters.
No. lol I'd like to design characters by myself because it's the only thing I'm good at(and I'm not even verry good at that) and if a well known one came in and did that I'd feel lower than dirt. lol
I don't know any other animation studio so I'd probly go with studio Gibli (even though I realy dislike thier animation.... lol)
