Just recently, I watched the TV series Area 88 to completion. At first, I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, but by volume two, the series really grew on me.

One Piece: This is an awesome series I had ignored for quite awhile for no particular reason, till Kaemmerite got me hooked on it.

Generator Gawl: I bought this completely impulse, not sure whether it was a good buy or not, but it ended up one of my favorites. Fullmetal fans should note that the voice of Gawl himself is none other than Vic Mignogna, AKA the voice of Ed Elric. It's also got one of the best dubs all around ADV ever put out.

AD Police TV: Too many people seem to hate this series, but I enjoyed the story a lot. Sure it has it's flaws, but it was entertaining. (Vic dubs a few 'extra' characters in this as well. Though I didn't really like the dub as I felt they screwed around with characters' personalities a bit.) The AD Police OVA sucked hard, though.

That I didn't expect to like but liked? Well, I think that's probably only happened once... It was Sailormoon back in the day... like '96 when I got into it (I was 13 or 14 at the time...) Yeah... It definately surprised me... Even the DiC dub, which is all I had access to at first... I expected it to be completely stupid, but it was a good enough story without the visceral stuff I'd seen in Akira or some of the other anime I had seen up to that point...
