The real heart of CAA; discuss specific series, issues, and things related to anime here.

Oh! Way to go! That's awesome.

Bwa ha ha ha, and another falls to the power of Furuba and anime!
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I had already thought that if you were hoping to get her to dress as Lust, she must be quite a looker. (And I mean that respectfully... nothing wrong with a single guy looking at a single female admiringly, as long as it isn't--for lack of a better word--lustfully.)

Given Mangafanatic's female perspective on the topic, I can see where the character of Lust might be an issue. But like you said, I think it can be done tastefully.

CAA is a great site. But for that reason, you might want to hold off on introducing her to it for about 10 months. ;)
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

I disagree, actually. Though it can be interpreted as lesbianism, also remember that Sakura and Tomoyo are relatives, as Sakura's mom and Tomoyo's mom were cousins. Granted, they are distantly related, but related nonetheless.

At any rate, Tomoyo supports Sakura being with Li, so whether she has feelings for Sakura or not, she knows Sakura would never return them and doesn't actively pursue her.

Have you simply asked her? It might be easier then getting deep into anime

Well, let's see...

Note the "we're actually just friends" disclaimer in the first post. I repeat: this is a girl friend, not a girl-friend.

As far as my calling her beautiful, I could have used a more vulgar adjective, and besides, we've been friends for about 11 years now. She knows how I feel, to wit: that she's one of the most beautiful girls I know, but that I don't believe God's plan for my life includes her in any further way than the relationship we have now. So I'm allowed to say things like "you look nice today" or "I know it's hot, but can you please put a jacket on, at least while we're alone?"

Again, though, (and this is also in response to creed4) "will you please be Lust for me?" sounds weird out of context. So for the cosplay reason (and that reason only) I suppose I wouldn't want her to see this. Well, she doesn't have an internet connection anyway, so it's moot
:) .

Progress:
Loaned her Princess Mononoke. She hasn't watched it yet.

UNEXPECTED PROGRESS:
Based on Angela's recommendation (I'm known as "that's the guy that likes anime, but we love him anyways" at church) the Fruits Basket DVD is now circulating among the girls at church, all of whom are enjoying it very much. We've sparked a shoujo revolution! :thumb:

My sister's 12, and Wrath is young, so she can do it. At AX, all the Wrath cosplayers I saw were girls, too.

Oh. I am so envious. I wish this would happen at MY church. *Actually, all the mothers would probably beat me with potted plants if I got their children interested in that "weird anime stuff"* Congratulations at this monumental success. ;)

Update:

There was a recent upheaval in AS' relationship with a different girl at church, one AS was interested in. Or is. Or was/is/was/is/was. Whatever.

Anyways, this event created a huge shockwave that has affected AS' relationships with every other friend he has in different ways-- some small and insignificant, some big, some beneficial, some regretable.

Included in this is the suddenly lonely Animus Seed, unfortunately, has had more trouble than usual lately with, well, lust. :bang:

Therefore, through absolutely no fault of her own but simply because of AS' own aforementioned stupidity and maleness (add "spiritual weakness" to that list), AS has decided that it would be for the ultimate good if his friendship with the uber-beautiful subject of this thread ended.

Animus Seed is now minus one friend, due, I repeat, to his own weakness with lust.

(Let us pause for a moment, step back, pretend this happened to someone else entirely and look at it objectively, and enjoy the delicious taste of irony.)

Is the project over? By no means! Through faith, AS will overcome this sin :jump:  and restore his friendship(s) to a pleasing-to-God-state, with plenty of time to pre-reg for AX and get 7 good (and modest) costumes together (and, let's not forget, grow his moustache. The reason I'm playing Pride to begin with is because I'm the only one who can grow one.)

God bless!

Keep those suggestions coming, too.

Oh, and by the by, the Fruits Basket Revolution continues unstopped.
