I personally thought this thread was worthy of the General forum, but if not, feel free to move it. ^^
While perusing sites for gaming info, as I tend to do (being on the Gamecast and all), I came across this news article on Kotaku that touts this video as the inspiration for Will Wright's game Spore. Who knows, that's not important.
What it is, is a video called "Powers of Ten." It is an educational film that starts out with a couple on a picnic, and the camera zooms out, increasing the range of vision by 10 times every ten seconds. It starts at 1 meter up, so basically it then increases to 10 meters, 100 meters, etc. It zooms all the way out to 10^24 meters, or 100 million light years. After that, it zooms back in...into the man's hand, all the way down to the subatomic particles of a proton, at 10^-16 meters.
It's pretty intense...gives you an idea of just how enormous and awesome this universe that God has created is. And yes, it will make you feel like an insignificant speck of dust in the entire cosmos. XD;;
How fortunate we are that even if we are "dust specks" in the relative size of the universe, we have a Creator that is even bigger, and loves us more than anything. ^^
EDIT: Oh yeah, it's like, 8 1/2 minutes long. XD;; Maybe some of you will find it boring, but I thought it was cool.
