Yeah, it's kind of an old article, but I found it amazing! Even I, who loves snakes, didn't know they could be social! Guess there's much more to some animals than we seem to think...

Neat article!

My personal observation of western diamondbacks(rattlesnakes) is that you only ever find one by itself. Families? I never would have come up with that.
Of course, I'm not currently in the habit of looking in rattlesnake dens...;)

Android raptor, have you ever seen a rattlesnake up close without glass between you and it? Just curious...

No, I've never seen rattlesnakes in the wild :(. I wish I could so I may take pictures, because I think they're beautiful animals...

They are gorgeous, but very dangerous...you really don't want to be close enough to photograph them. Unless you're like me and have plenty of experience with the sneaky buggers. Maybe next time I see one I'll try to get a picture for you.

I had some friends who actually had a Rattlesnake nest under their house. They started finding snake skins (they actually found a couple in their house) and seeing snakes in the yard and called an exterminator who called an animal control specialist who removed over 50 snakes from their crawlspace. Very, very creepy if you ask me.
