I'm having trouble with my connection lately...

Sometimes it connects me at really low speeds like 30kbps, sometimes it won't connect me at all, and when I do connect, it's slower than usual and I get booted off nearly every time. Most of the time, after I get booted, I have to restart because the modem won't dial up.

Does anyone have any clue what this could be? It did it a while back, then it stopped, and now it's doing it again. I can try to be more specific if need be...

Which dial up service do you have? And do you have more than one switch board to connect to in you settings? It sounds like an ISP problem. There is the slight chance that your modem could be going bad on you or a problem with your modem drivers.

I use AOL and/or Netzero...and they both do the same thing. I really hope my modem isn't going bad, I just got the thing a few months ago! >:| How would I know if it's the drivers or not?

Right click on Z'ha'dum on your.... wait wrong name. Right click on My Computer on you desktop and select 'Properties'. Click on the 'Device Manager' tab. You will now see a large list of devices-- find something name Dial-up Adapter or close to it. First see if there is a yellow circle with an exclimation mark in it. That is a quick warning of something wrong with you drivers or hardware. Doulbe click on Dial-up Adapter to see more details. Don't go anywhere else or change anything else in this window or the device manager window. Close out of it if need be.

I may wait for others to reply what they think could be the problem before giving you instructions on [maybe] narrowing out the possibility of a modem gone bad. IF anything is wrong with it.

I don't think that I've had any bad experiences with Netzero except that bloody 4 hour time limit per session-- too short.

You are viewing devices by connection, right? You may need to try and look through the Drakh hom-- I mean Network Neighborhood. Just right click >properties. Look for dial-up adapter there, although that's not really driver info as much as it is just network settings. Like I said before, I think I did atleast, dial-up adapter might be going under a different name (hopefully having some resemblance of 'dial-up' if you were looking at the right list.

Well, I think I found out what it is...I wish it had been drivers or something, at least then I might have a chance of actually fixing it.
