Yea, we sorta need some more clarification on what you mean when you stated:
why is it that nice guys always seem to finish last?
. But as Kae already stated, essentially last shall be first and first shall be last. Sometimes when nice guys finish last it is because they don't play dirty like "bad guys" and follow the rules.

That reminds me of this thing I read on an AD. xD "If nice guys finish last, it's only because they stopped along the way to talk to people."

Or somefin' like that, lawl.

It's mostly an illusion, the people who are not nice guys give the appearance of "winning", but their lack of virtue kills whatever they "won" in their dealing with it.

that is a good point to point out (excuse the pun). Also, it doesn't helo that quite a few of them like the shallow women/girls that many of my sex abhor. It's not that they don't win--they're running in the wrong direction some of the time.

But many who are first will be last, and many who are last will be first. - Matthew 19:30

That's exactly what I was going to quote. ^^
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

[Pink Floyd fan listening to Queen and hugging trees which is also known as taking care of God's creation with a pair of headphones on listening to Nightwish as loud as possible while writing a novel on a computer in the middle of a field filled with Wolves.]

Yeah. I agree with Seppuku (and whoever else said it).

In the long run, the nice guys are almost certainly going to be happier.

Why? Because they did the right thing. And because what you do always catches up with you. Sometimes it doesn't until you die, but most of the time, yep, it's gonna catch you. What's that proverbs says? Even a child is known by his actions, by whether his conduct is pure and right. Something like that.

If you're a "on-nice" guy, sooner or later people are going to learn just how far they can trust you. (Not as far as they can throw you?) And things like that take awhile to live down.
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share

And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence.

I have yet to fully gather my thoughts on this enough to make an intelligent post, but for now I'll just say that maybe it's possible that the nice guys "finish last" because the Lord works a bit longer and harder in perfecting their character. :)
