There are plenty! Some of my favorites would be Escaflowne, Fruits Basket, Azumanga, Crest/Banner of the Stars...and more.

I have enjoyed The Twelve Kingdoms thoroughly enough to consider it "worth buying". More commonly would be Trigun, Cowboy Bebop, Serial Experiments Lain, Fruit Basket, Azumanga Daioh, and DN Angel. There are a TON more..... but I'd have to ask some questions so that list can be narrowed down a bit. ^^;;

What types of animes do you typically enjoy?

What are some of your favorite animes?

What type of content do you find objectionable?

Well, depending on what you're into, I would recommend the Read or Die OVA and R.O.D. The TV Series. These two are my second favorite series; second only to Kanon, which I would honestly recommend to anyone. Kanon is a wonderful and heartfelt romance anime.

I would aslo recommend Wolf's Rain and Full Metal Panic (all 3 seasons, once the third one comes out) to you. Excellent series, all of them.

I second Samurai 7! And it's only 26 episodes (and it's in widescreen!)

In answering this question, I'm pitting quality of the series against the price of the series. Personally, I don't really buy any anime one volume at a time, just because I have never seen any series that was worth a $200 commitment (factoring 4 episodes per volume, 26 episodes per series, and $20 per volume). However, thin packs make a lot of series worth the investment, however. My top thin packs would probably be:

Fruits Basket (If you haven't read the manga), Rahxephon (I haven't seen all of it, but it's hailed as a classic in most circles and you can buy the whole thing for under $60), Escaflowne (you can purchase this one from Rightstuf for under $40!!), and Noir.
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

I own all of Cowboy Bebop (bought as individual volumes in a lot on eBay), Martian Successor Nadesico, Avenger (a gift...) and Full Metal Panic!.

Currently, I'm trying to find a good deal on the Genshiken premium collection, but the prices are still outrageous - it's priced almost as though it were a 26-episode series instead of 13.

Lets see... I had to sell 99% of my collection for emergency funds and if I chose to buy any of it back, I'd put it in this priority:
1) Azumanga Daioh (thanks to Steeltemplar I was able to get this classic back)
2) Sailor Moon Series 1
3) Excel Saga
4) Sailor Moon S
5) Urusei Yatsura

As for the rest of what I had, it just isn't worth the investment I think.

I'd have to disagree on InuYasha...Maybe buying a few DVD's that had favorite episdoes on them would be OK, but the entire series is really just too long and too repetitive to spend that much money on.

Anyways, I would suggest Rurouni Kenshin (2nd Boxed set being the best, in my opinion), Full Moon wo Sagashite (it's not a thinpak yet, but it's certainly worth the money), Cowboy Bebop, Haibane Renmei, and Azumanga Daioh. If I think of more, I'll be sure to post them! :D

I also highly recommend Pretear. An awsome series. And very clean. And best of all it's only 13 episodes.

yeah. you could try rurouni kenshin but i think that samurai x would also be a good anime. i, personally, think that it's better than rurouni kenshin even though they are both basically, the same anime, except with different names.

Well, Samurai X is the OVA (Trust and Betrayal and Reflections), but to get the full effect of the OVA's, you really need to see the series. And they're pretty different, considering the content, art style, and the actual story that's being portrayed. But yeah, anyways. XD

Thanks everyone. For your feedback. Yeah I bought all of Fruit Basket, FMP: Fumoffu, Cowboy Bebop, and Tenchi Muyo. But yeah the suggestions sound great. I never been a Inuyasha,Yu Yu or Full Moon whatever fan. I'm more into action, fantasy, and comedy or a combo of all of them. I also like historical pieces. Like I own some of Peacemaker and Otogi Zoshi. I'm a huge Tenchi Muyo, Fumoffu, and Record of Lodoss War fan.

List of some anime I compiled that are on my to buy list:
Outlaw Star
Chobits
Full Metal Panic!
PeaceMaker
Witch Hunter Robin
Ghost in the Shell: Standalone Complex (I have 1-3)
Azumanga Daioh
Excel Saga (so randomly funny i need to buy this)
Rune Soldier

I know this doesnt' give you much of an idea of stuff I like to watch but I pretty much watch everything. I usually watch the dubb. Just cuz I listen to the English while I do other things. Although if the dub is terrible then I actually watch the sub.
Hope this helps. Once again thanks everyone!

I recommend both Outlaw Star and Witch Hunter Robin. I actually found all the volumes of Witch Hunter Robin, except for vol. 2(I'm still looking for it though) at the local Dollar General stores for $3 a piece. I was very happy! :thumb:

Last Exile and R.O.D. are both made of awesomeness (the latter to a greater extent than the former). But watch the R.O.D. OVA before the TV series.

For me... Chrono Crusade, His and Her Circumstances, Peacemaker, Voices of a Distant Star, The Place Promised In Our Early Days (<especially that), and Diamond Daydreams are/were worth personally owning. I wouldn't ,mind having a Fumoffu set, either.
