Home Cooking

Postby KBMaster » Tue Jun 27, 2006 5:31 pm

We all have our favorite home cooking. For me, it's my Aunt's gumbo and my gramma's chili. Oh, and my sister's chocolate chip cookies.
How about you guys? What's your favorite homecooking?

Mom's schnitzle, rotkohl (marinated red cabbage), and spatzle (german noodles). And mom's desserts, all of them are good!

What's schnitzle?
Oh, man, I can't believe I forgot my aunt's baklava(sp?). It's yummilicious! There's a reason she's my favorite aunt. :thumb:

I like my own recipe for Chicken Pot Pie. Speaking of which, it's nearly dinner time and the wolf should be home soon. I think I'm inspired to cook! :D

Schnitzel: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wiener_schnitzel
It's a thin, lightly-breaded, and pan-fried meat dish. Very tasty!

What's with all this ethnic food? Makes me want to cry cause I dont have any relatives who can cook stuff like that. *sob*

umm..these days I do most of the 'home cooking'. Chocolate chip cookies, chili, random sandwiches & soup. But, at pref of my Dad, I do alot of 'reheat' cooking...like buying bags of fish & chicken & such and just bakin them. So I dont get practice at homecooking much. :/

My fiance` just made a cake so good my family devoured it in less than 24 hours. That's a short life for a cake between 5 people!
My mom's spaghetti is good.
My sister rulez at potatoes and MY dish of specialty is alfredo noodles.
I used to make corn bread muffins like nothing but my friends SWORE they caused bad luck everytime I made them...I didn't believe them until the Columbia exploded after I made a batch....then I kinda stopped making them. XD

I like my grandma's grilled cheese sammiches and my mother's angel food cake. Although I think the cake may be from a box, her frosting is from scratch and to die for. Angels wish they had it this good.

Mom's ham and potato casserole!
I also like her enchiladas, and beef ajou(I'm sure there's a better way to spell that)!
