Alas Bruno The Bear Is Dead

Postby mitsuki lover » Tue Jun 27, 2006 12:44 pm

A pair of hunters in southern Bavaria finally ending the meandering wonderings of Bruno the Brown Bear through Germany and Austria. For those not in the know Bruno was among a number of bears that were
releashed in northern Italy in an attempt to bring back the wild bear population.
Unfortunately Bruno didn't seem to obey national boundaries and wondered into Austria's Tyrol province and the German state of Bavaria.
Because of the bear's indiscriminate destruction of domestic livestock the
Bavarian government originally put a bounty on his head.Unfortunately
envrionmental and animal rights groups protested and the Bavarian government rescinded the bounty.
All attempts to trap or otherwise take Bruno alive failed.
As a result the Bavarian government decided to reissue the shoot to kill on sight order.
What is sad about this is that Environmentalist and Animal Rights groups are
more angry over the death of Bruno than the fact that he did numerous damage to the Bavarian agricultural buisness, especially the uncounted deaths of domesticated livestock and destruction of private property that his rampage through Bavaria and also Tyrol resulted in.

Nevermind the fact that man was really stupid in the first place to up the population of bears by letting them loose randomly. :eyebrow: People are dumb. Oh I'm sure there was some great plan, but if it went that haywire? They probably made some stupid choices.

yeah, I can't understand that either... they tend to do that a lot too, like how they introduced raccoons to the European contenent for scientific study and now they're a major pest there now.

Gee, no kidding! You think maybe because it's a BEAR? What did they THINK was gonna happen?

Guard: "Hey, you can't cross this, it's a national boundary."
Bruno: "Okay." *walks away*

Yeah, occasionally I wonder if these people watch too many cartoons.
They figure the bears will be all like Yogi Bear....'Ok, Mr Ranger Sir. We won't enter your town & eat your citizens & loot your garbage.' (though the pick-i-nick baskets are doomed)

Poor Bruno v_v I think it's sad when bear's get shot cause they get too close into a city (like in my town :/) I mean honestly, just tranquillize them and relocate them somewhere FAR and isolated if possible. Poor little guys v_v

The Germans did on several occasions try to tranquilize Bruno or capture him otherwise alive but he simply was smarter than them,I guess.

Well cute or not that didn't quite stop him from going on a needless rampage.

No kidding.

Anyway...I wish they'd just relocated him...I mean, if hunters could shoot and kill him, how hard could it be to just tranquilize him? Maybe they just had amateurs trying to catch him. Geez, I'm glad people don't treat other people the way they treat animals.
Heart of Sword's Rhapsody

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!
