Oh yeah I heard this one played on the radio for some talk channel. Never had this problem with MSN or Netzero. In their cases it was "Sorry to hear that." Bink "You're done. Give us a call if you change your mind."

Wow.... I have to commend that guy for keeping his composure as long as he did. I wouldn't have been able to. But either way... it's really messed up. Especially when that AOL guy said "You're going to listen to what I have to say or I'm not cancelling the account," or whatever it was he said.

lol! that was awful yet amusing at parts... they make it so easy to subscribe to AOL, yet they make it a real pain to unsubscribe... so devious... :shake:

That was amusing! XD

It must be against company policy to cancel accounts or something...

btw, the AOL person in this call got fired. Serves him right, I guess... this incident has drawn so much bad wrap for AOL that they actually interviewed the guy who recorded the call on (I think) Fox.

The guy was fired for perfomring AOL's customer service protocol... Seriosly, the best way to lose your AOL account is to get kicked off... Otheriwise, it's hell... It's also a big pain to clean the AOL stuff off your computer.

AOL's proprietary Browser, their memory sucking programs, their stubbornness to let you cancel... AOL is an all around nightmare... I don't know why anyone with DSL would have AOL... It's like they capitalize on people's misunderstandings about the internet... Of course, so do a number of other secondary ISPs, like MSN, but AOL is definately the worst... That I've encountered, anyhow

The fact that he recorded it sorta shows that he'd tried this before and gotten the same result. Either that, or he'd been warned by someone AOLs nasty tactics, and wanted some evidence so he could take them down if that was true... And he did that quite well.

While I dont care for AOL, I cant say this recording made me like them less. Im sure the representative was not instructed to act like a jerk.

Im sure there are lousy employees at every company.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.
