Our desktop is named Steve... I dont think we named our laptop.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

My laptop is Daedelus. It's pretty smart, flies around a lot, and sometimes causes other things to catch fire.

The computers on the office network are named after the Naruto ninja villages. The router is called "Hokage." Anyone who maintains this system after me will be daily reminded of my huge fanboyism.

My computer itself is named (oddly enough) Puritan, although I always refer to it as "the machine" or "the computer". My hard drives, however, are named Verthandi, Urd, and Skuld after the three Norse fates (if you actually buy THAT story...)

"Table", because this was the first incarnation of its case:

The little lighthouse statue was wired to be the HDD-light, the power light was polaced behind the translucent Agent Smith action figure, and the ethernet LEDs were placed in a plastic teddy bear's eyes.

I've since moved it into a more "traditional" case, because I needed more drive bays.

ML, with my computer I named it because when I first started it up it asked for a name for my computer..it's not something we do randomly. It's because it's an option that you can choose! ^_^

My computer shares my screen name, but i make a point to name all my storage media after star wars planets or starships, in relation to thier sizes.
For instance, back in the days of floppies, I had several small starship names,
until now my 1GB USB drive is called Interdictor, after the gravity defy-ing starship class.
My first harddrive (for a 486) was called Tatooine, and it fit, isnce it was pretty barren. I moved up through Naboo, and Coruscaunt (which was big for it's time, but now..), and currently my laptop is named Bothawui after the home planet of the cutthroat, but furry, politicians called Bothans. (i can't recall the name of my 300GB external HD right now, but i spent a while choosing it's name when i got it.)

all my computers were named TurkishMonky, from the early onset, so that's kind of standard.

I've had my computer for three years, and I never thought about naming it. Hmmm...

My Computer's name is now..Kentaro Mokoto! Kentaro means "Big Boy" in Japanese, and Mokoto (named after my avatar) means "Sincere" Here's a picture of it when I first got it on it's new desk (It took 7 hours to put the stupid thing together!)

My PC is called Symbolism...

dun ask me why.
With your doubt, all is comfort
We are all as we appear
No more questions left unanswered
No more wonder, no more fear
Nothing is beauty, nothing's feeling
Blood where there once was a soul
So I ask you, prove yourself

Well my previous computer had three (undersized) hard drives so I gave them the volume names of Melchior, Balthasar and Caspar after the Magi computers of Evangelion.

My current one doesn't have a name, though it seems to have named itself HP_Administrator and I'm not sure how to change that without fouling everything up

Funny you should mention that, AH. That's essentially what the CAA server's localhost name is. It's a massive multi-processor system, though, so it seemed appropriate.

My family's PC has no name, and doesn't deserve one. And what we do call it is not fit to be repeated, though my version is considerably tamer than the rest of the family.

I haven't named my laptop yet, and I've had it sense January. Which is kind of surprising, considering that I name everything, even houseplants. ^^;; *contemplates*

Tobi. *nods*
Short for Tobias, which somehow makes sense to me, since it is a Toshiba. Emphasis on 'makes sense to me.' XD

I don't name my computers. I named the concept of my computer, so the name continues no matter what its physical counterpart. Plus, I couldn't stand to have to rename a new computer. It would make me sad for the old one. Call me weird.

My computer [currently a 15-inch Apple G4 PowerBook] is named Mitsuki-chan. And her accompanying 4GB black iPod nano is named raiPod. Can you guess why?

I've been meaning to draw Mitsuki-chan and raiPod for a while now. I should do that.
