Day of Evil Today=6/6/06

Postby mitsuki lover » Tue Jun 06, 2006 12:08 pm

Yeah peoples this is the day of Evil.6/6/06.
I for one am going to be glad when this day is over and people stop all the
superstitious talk about the number 666.Although it appears that some people may be having a bit of fun with it.For example the town of Hell,Michigan(ok let's NOT think of all the jokes about people from Hell
such as the groom who married a wife from the town of Hell,Michigan and she was the literal BRIDE FROM HELL!OUCH!See what I mean?! :dizzy: )
But to be serious as today is the 62 anniversary of D-Day landings I propose that we concentrate on celebrating that and not loose our heads
over the coincidence of the date or what it may or may not mean.

I agree on most of what you say, but this date is spesial for some sects and they don't seem to be keen on doing any good deeds on this paticular date. So we should keep our heads cooled and hope nothing bad happens.

Oooo! Ahhh! I'm shaking in my socks -_-'...
Heh if you think about it, if the world didn't end in 06/06/06 (that IS the year 1006) no reason why it would now^^ I overheard a convo of old men talking about it though, and how people have actually made bets if things will end today or not, and then they joked about "how the winner will get their earnings".

Or June 6, 6. The year 6. Except there wasn't a June 6 in the year 6, because the Gregorian calendar didn't exist then.

I think the 6/6/06 thing is pretty dumb all in all. It's just a marketing ploy. I know that hundreds of thousands of people are going to go see 'The Omen' today *just* because it's released on 6/6/06.

Eh, I think the whole thing's rediculous. I mean, no one knows when the world will end, and just because today happens to be June 6th in the sixth year of the year 2006 doesn't mean that anything is going to happen. At first, I was a little aprehensive about the date, until I realized that all it is is another day, and God is in control, anyways. So yeah, no worries. XD

(Actually, mathmatically, this isn't really a day of evil. Only June sixth, year six would be. That would truly be 6/6/6. But today is 6/6/06, and because "0" is a signficiant number because there are two numbers that aren't zero preceding it, the "0" counts as an actual number.)

I went to the dentist this morning and he was like "Well, your teeth look fine, but it doesn't matter much cuz we're all gonna die anyway." Then when he was done he told me. "Go out and enjoy your last day alive." XD I thought that was funny.

I found it kinda odd because I watched 'A Touch of Satan' and 'Merlin's Shop of Mystical Wonders' which had a demonic toy monkey on Mystery Science Theater today, only to find out it was 6/6/06.

If you want to get more technical it isn't "6" at all but 2006. ;)

Although I suppose people can claim it's the 6th year of the Millenium or the century or the decade. However I'm not going to lose any sleep over it, and didn't even notice it until I saw this thread.

On the other hand it is an election day in California, but those are ominous in any year ;)

Actually, my friend's birthday is today. XD Unfortunately for him, his birthday has never gone right (as in, something always happens on his birthday that makes it bad). And now his 16th birthday is today. XD It's quite comical, really.

Actually, it isn't. The new millennium and century began in 2001, so the 6th year of the millennium/century won't be until 2007.

For example the town of Hell,Michigan

I didn't know we had a town named that...

Another funny thing to think about is the fact that it was translated wrong, the numer is not 666 it is 616. Or so I've heard from my bible teacher, math teacher, friends, family, and so on. I don't know who's right, but if they got the date wrong this 666 thing is completely a waste of time.

One other thing my zip code is 616, the "real" numbers, or so I've heard.

lol, I just kinda want to see the Omen to see if it's all what it's hyped up to be.

And hey, if it was the end of the world, wouldn't something significant have already happened?
As vast as the world around you may seem, in actuality, it's a very small place.
The limits of your experiences, the sphere that's within your reach, Ultimately defines limits of your understanding.
The world as you know is not reality.
That is a world you have created yourself.

(I've been home all day, so I haven't heard anything of the sort... Aside from here, of course.)

(But yeah, it'd be somewhat amusing if it HAD been translated wrong. Everyone goes, "Oh. Doomsday was five days ago? Nothing happened...")
