Well today, I figured out that my chemistry teacher designed the speedpass used at gas stations such as Exxon and such.

Apparently, since he was a Christian Brother, (Brother Don Alger FSC) he didn't accept the money. So they money went to his family and they bought him some super expensive car.

Talk about news O.o

not a fan of speed pass, or its clones. i prefer to use real money, though i admit to useing my bank card at the pump pretty often, its a habbit im trying to end. i dont like the idea of digital money, its valuless enough as it is

My brother developed the fountain system used for the projector in fantasmic at Disneyland... The company he worked for (a fountain company), though, forced him to sign a contract that said anything he developed while working for them belonged to them, so he didn't see a penny in royalties.

This sort of thing happens a lot.

On a related note, I still remember when... Whatever gas station had the speed pass, they used to run ads saying "Get Gas Faster" but they had an advertisement for their hotdogs right underneath... I was like "Those ads get straight to the point, don't they?"

Well turns out I was wrong.

He wasn't the designer of speedpass...

He only designed the Speedpass' physical appearance

After all that... he didn't even design the thing! GWAH! Well, I supposed designing the physical appearance is still something to be proud of!
