Who has heard of this? It looks really fancy and such. A 40th anniv. animation project by the folks behind classics like Speed Racer.

The animation is obviously high-end, with a really cool mix of traditional 2D animation and fancy, well-blended CG. I haven't gotten it yet, but major retailers seem to be carrying the DVD for around $15, which contains the first 3 of 6 OVA episodes.

I'm betting this is definitely one for the action-junkies, seeing as I hear it opens with a 6-minute straight fight sequence. Looks to be quite cool otherwise.

I just rented this one. It looks to be good.

Come someone make my heavy heart light
Come undone, bring me back to life
It all starts with a lullaby

I saw fansubs of the first three OVA's a while back. I can confirm that the animation is good, and it is also true that it has a high amount of action. Apart from that, it is one of those trippy anime that is simply rather hard to understand (like Lain). Even by the third OVA, not much has been explained at all.

I was disappointed with it. The animation is great, and the premise is very interesting, but the plot is ultimately lacking. To begin with, you have a series of apparently random acts by different characters that take far too long to come together. When they finally do though, the movie ends very abruptly without any meaningful resolution, and leaving many dangling plot threats.
The scientific method," Thomas Henry Huxley once wrote, "is nothing but the normal working of the human mind." That is to say, when the mind is working; that is to say further, when it is engaged in corrrecting its mistakes. Taking this point of view, we may conclude that science is not physics, biology, or chemistry—is not even a "subject"—but a moral imperative drawn from a larger narrative whose purpose is to give perspective, balance, and humility to learning.
