what is the worst injury you have ever gotten?

*raises hand*
Do injuries to your pride, dignity or emotional state count? jk.

Anyway, the worst injury I have ever had probably occured when I jabbed my thumb into a basketball as a kid (I think I jammed it, but honestly I don't remeber.)

Also involving a basketball, I went to take it away from someone while we played a game of it in gym class many years back/ She dribbled it... it went up... my hand came down... my pinky bent back :/

Now the top bone of it can bend further back than my other fingers cause some ligements were torn^^ And if you hold onto it (which I've gotten my friends to do when they ask about it) you can actually feel the cartalige moving back and forth... back and forth... totally grosses my one friend out^^

Oh, I guess another pretty bad injury I got was when I jumped off the counter when I was 3 and split my lip with my tooth :/ Didn't get stitches or anything. And that was a pretty big injury knowing that I've never rode a bike on my own thus never having bike injuries like that (yeah ya heard me! I can't ride bikes!!)

When I was a little kid, I tore my knee open.

What happened was I was walking along this sidewalk that was a few feet higher than a small grassy area beside it. Flanking the grassy area on the other side was the curb of a parking lot. This curb was broken up and jagged in a section.

Being a little boy, I decided for whatever reason to jump down from the sidewalk to the grass. Well, I hit the curb with my left knee and it tore straight open. It was nasty. I could see the tissue. Anyway, they took me off to the hospital and stitched me up. I still have the scar there and it is quite visible.

I once stepped on a toothpick that stuck to the carpet, sticking straight up. I was chasing my cousin and DOING it went! Luckily it didn't go straight in, rather sideways. Thus I didn't really bleed much.

Owwww.

Reminds me of when I got a sliver that was about an inch long stuck in my foot. Worse, it was so deeply inbedded that at first glance you could not see it sticking out from the flesh. Thankfully, we were able to get it out instead of having to take me to have it done surgically. When I saw the thing, I could hardly believe that it was as long as it was O_o;

AHAH!

I dunno if this is an injury or not...

but when I was 4 I wanted to fly so I jumped off a dresser and landed and I knocked my front teeth out..

I also stuck a screwdriver in an electric heater. ZZZT!

when I was in the 5th Grade I got hit by a car while riding my bike, luckily, I only flew on the windshield and rolled off. I scraped up my knee and my tooth is chipped...(I had fillings but it came out while I was eating a sugar daddy)

Well, I've been out of work (Thank God for disability payments) with an injured thumb for over six months. Not my most painful injury but my most severe one with regard to consequences, as it will require surgery to repair.

Once, I stabbed a wooden chopstick under my left eye. It didn't do anything to impair my sight, thank God, but now my left eye protrudes a little and there's still a piece of chopstick lodged in my optic nerves. :B Doctors considered it too dangerous to get it out surgically.

I was rollerblading and slipped and fell on an incline. I landed with my full weight on my palm backwards and it fractured the bones out so they were like ( ) this instead of | | that. (the hand would be at the top of that >.>). The real bad thing was that I was leaving for summer camp the very next day. That really wasn't cool b/c the cast I got was at the emergency place in the hospital, not a bone-specialty place. I couldn't play fun stuff at camp and the cast ended up being so loose after the swelling went down that I could almost slide it off my arm XD When I got home they put a new one on.

In response to everyones posts so far... ow... yeah, I think I shall forever rember this thread as the "*cringe* oh" thread.

Anyway, I remebered another semi-tramatic injury I got when I was in first grade. My shoe was untied for the enitire day and well, I never really took the time to re-tie it. After school I saw my mom, and being the excited first grader I was I ran to her. Big mistake, I tripped and busted my lip open and scratched my face up a little.

I once fell off my bike and got a nasty case of road rash. Dad had to clean it out with a brush. Hurt like anything.

I also had 4 teeth removed at once - although that was intentional and done under anesthetic (sp?), the 8 shots still hurt.

When I was about 9, I was riding my bike too fast around a corner. I smacked my forehead on the concrete and got a nasty lump the size of -- I am not exaggerating -- a baseball. My mom has a picture of me (well after the hospital trip) grinning like a goofball, with a black eye and a nasty goose-egg on my head.

Ow. Probably my worst injury was two weeks ago. I was Jumping from the roof of the van to the house, and didn't get far enough onto the roof to balance. I pushed back and lost my footing on the front of the van. In the resulting fall, I scraped my leg down windshield and grill.

It's hard to choose a 'worst' injury, because there's no one injury that stands out as being the worst... I've never broken a bone.

Let's see...
-When I was young, my brother hit me over the head (EDIT: I can't believe I left out "head" ) with a large thick cardboard tube with steel rims around the ends. Several stitches resulted.
-One day after school (must have been really young... year 1?) I was slow in getting out of the car, and everyone else had gone inside, and so I locked and closed my door.... and somehow got my finger caught in there. So I had my finger caught in the locked door and no one was around. I was crying and screaming out for minutes... then eventually my mum came out. The finger was bluish in colour for a while, and the fingernail came off and a new one grew in its place.
-I was semi-playing around with the sewing machine one time, when I accidentally brought the needle down through my finger (not to the other side, though..).
-I've had sporting injuries, like fingers bent back (from basketball I think..), then they became swollen.
-More recently, I was working with wooden trays that have nails and splinters sticking out... and I wasn't very careful with one tray that had a nail sticking out protruding in the direction my hand was coming from. So the nail tore across my palm... yeah, ouch!

the worst physical injury I've ever had was when a wood chip about the size of a bottle cap got jammed into my right arm and went all the way to the bone. it happened while playing outside on the playground when I was around ten years old. got it removed in the hospital and I even got to keep the wood chip. :D

And when I was around three, I was running on all fours and I ran into the corner of the coffee table. split the skin above my upper lip. I had to get stitches and it looked like I had whiskers XD I still have a small scar there.

Oh! and then I jammed my pinkie finger and a piece of bone was chipped off. it was left in my finger. that was about when I was eight, though. wonder if it's still there. >_>

Oh! and then I fell off my bike and scraped my knee really, really bad on a rocky road when I was twelve. I had to ride all the way back home with blood running down my leg. ow. @_@

hmmm. . .this is a toughy. When I was about ten, I was riding my bike along and I hit some loose gravel. My bike skidded over and I ran into a mailbox (looking back now, it's really quite amusing) resulted in a cut over my left eye and another cut under it.
2nd worst would probably be when I was boxing, the gloves were to big for me and they peeled all the skin from the back of my knuckles. Grant it, I was to angry( at what i can't remember) to notice the pain.

I twisted my neck a few degrees to the right when I was a kid and playing fooball.
Nothing too bad though ^^;;

These days all I have is a pinky that wont go in all the way and a slightly bent middle finger. I dont really do martial arts anymore...

let's see, i should probably put mine up too...
worst: i was running on wet grass next to cement. slipped, bodyslammed the cement, was unable to lift my arms for two months. that killed.

goryist: either the time i took off 75% of my toenail from stubbing it against a chair, or the time i cut myself with the exacto knife on my thumb (bled for 2 weeks... i really should have gotten stitches, oh well)

I stabbed my index and thumb with a exacto knife once! Man, those things are vicious. Mine wasn't a long cut, it was more of a deep cut though.

it's between either a fractered leg after flying off a three-wheeler, becoming rudolf (my nose got ran over and all bloody), or being so sick i rammed my head against the wall hopening it would knock me out.

reminds me of the time I hit a car when riding my bike... it hit my neighbors BMW O.O I was so afraid that I got the car scratched or that they notice.

What makes it worse was that the car was parked....

Speaking of bicycle disasters, I was once riding without my helmet. Two times I fell and got MASSIVE cuts on me. One on my left leg. The other on my face. The injury went from the side of my nose, arching to right next to my eye. Like... less than 1 cm away from my eye. It was scary

Another time, about last year. This person was chasing me because I stole their hat. It was raining and I was at church. I tripped and got this crazy abrasion. From under my wrist to almost at my elbow O.o yes somehow my injury curved around my arm. To make it worse, I was about 30 minutes away from home. So I wrapped my arm around my shirt and did all these weird methods to distract myself from the pain. I forgot what I did though.

These biking incidents remind me of one occasion where my younger brother somehow rode into the back of a PARKED van and chipped his tooth. That was 20 seconds after leaving the house.
