Transformers the (REAL LIFE) movie

Postby Tenshi no Ai » Wed Apr 12, 2006 9:53 pm

That's right... http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0418279/

I've been bored tonight and looking up new movies that are coming out. Thought this might be of interest to some people here. Well, then again I can be wrong and this could be entirely in CGI (like the new Ninja Turtles movie that's coming out apparently). Think it would be kinda interesting in real-life though...

Well, its directed by Michael Bay, which is simultaenously a good and bad thing. But I'm actually looking forward to this singularly in a curious fashion. It might be good.

I hope to the movie gods that this doesnt turn out to be a PG family romp with teenage leads and a "special" T-Rex...

they need some throwbacks to the original series/movie to make it even better, namely Victor Caroli as the narrator and Leonard Nimoy

Not PG, PG-13. The film is based on a childrens cartoon, so they definitely won't make it R (plus they'll make more money that way). But with the action and violence, it won't be PG.

Bay has done Armageddon and Pearl Harbor (both sucked) but had lots of action with a PG13 rating...He also did Bad Boys and the Rock, both were sweet films with an R rating.

My guess...he'll take the Armageddon side on this.

Look for MacDonald's or Burger King or Jack In The Box to have some sort of toy tie-in when and if it comes out.

The only thing I'm worried about is The voices for the Transformers, and Optimus Prime Has to Say The following lines:

"Give it up Megatron!"
"Autobots! Transform and Roll out"

Megatron needs to say:

"You're a fool Prime!"

And as long as it has The Transformers theme song preformed by "White/Lion", it can't suck.

I can't believe it's being directed by Michael Bay. I mean seriously. I'm a big fan of his, this should be intresting. And being produced by Steven Spielberg! I can't wait!

Ok, I liked Armageddon, when i was into disaster movies, but the whole Idea of the pearl harbor movie annoyed the crap out of me... Something about it seemed off from the previews, so I never watched it. I couldn't help but think "Oh, Titanic with bombs" maybe that was wrong, but...

I've heard a lot of bad things about Michael Bay... Mostly due to Pearl Harbor... Still, I'm interested in seeing where transformers is going to go...

Completely off topic, IMDB has prince caspian at 2008... *cries*

I liked Pearl Harbor a lot...I thought it was a fantastic movie. I didn't know people heard a lot of bad things about Michael Bay because of it.

The teaser isn't enough for me to decide whether this looks good or not... though the end of it, just seeing the Autobot sigil all huge on the screen, did stir me. The poster looks good.

Speculation on the trailer:
While that seems to have definitely been a Decepticon that smashed our little robot, it's shape reminded me of Ironhide. Still, I guess they would have still been protoform while on Mars.

The poster:
That's so obviously Megatron, and he, at least, looks good (check out that detail inside the eye, it just goes on forever and ever...) so here's hoping.

If Animus had made the trailer:
Exactly the same except for the 'con at the end. I would've just show the little probe-bot driving over a hill, then stop. Zoom out... what's a tractor-trailer doing on Mars? BAM! Blackness; logo and date on screen, then transform into 'con sigil.

To be honest, when my fiance` and best friend and I saw the preview during Pirates, we laughed at it. I've seen alot of movies due to my once working at a theater and this one looks really cheesy. It *could* be good but I really doubt it will b anything more than cliche`.

Well it seems that the voice of Optimus Prime is Peter Cullen. I'm not that worried since he's pretty cool in Megas XLR but Winnie The Pooh? C'mon!

Did anyone but me notice the trailer said 7.4.7? Not 7.4.07... 7.4.7... Hahaha... I thought that was pretty funny.

Was there a 747 transformer, by any chance?
