The simplest way that I can understand therapy is that we're born a certain way, we're taught to be something different, and we spend our whole lives trying to unravel it and ultimately align ourselves with who we really are. Life, experiences, traumas -- whatever -- they all add up to make you some altered version of what you are. So there's this battle that goes on between what you are and what you become, and it's been very important for me to unravel what I was taught to be or what I became. and to draw a direct parallel to music -- the closer I get back to being who I really am, the stronger the music gets..." --Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins frontman)

I don't know about any of you, but I certainly think we'll meet many of our pets in Heaven. After all, as Thomas Aquinas puts it, we'll have everything we'd ever need to be happy, so why wouldn't our animal friends be there?

I agree with that last statement.
I also think that heaven will contain more than we expect or hope to find there and that the number one surprise will be the number of people we will find there. It will be many more than all the universes combined can contain and much more than any of our creeds or beliefs will hold.
Ok,outside the main topic, not getting back on it:
during my life I have had the following types of pets:
*dogs
*cats
*fish
*gerbils
*hamsters

Yes, thank you for getting back to the main topic. Now please let's stay there, lest we start a theological debate.

Rocklobster, it is not okay to post the exact same thing twice in a thread just because people were not responding to it the first time you said it. It is likely they were trying to avoid starting the aforementioned theological debate. :)

I only posted twice because I didn't see my post, so I thought something was wrong with the server. Please disregard what happened.

I have 5 cats, 6 if I count the cat that we are feeding that our neighbor started feeding and we pickup up on, plus she is living in our screen house and we do everything to make her comfortable.
All our cats started has strays and ended up being taken in by us.
We have had since I was a kid two parakeets, a toy poodle that a friend bought and gave to us named Taffy, gold fish and one cat that we took in years ago named Callie who was our first cat.

I've had hamsters, fish, cats, and dogs. At this time, I have two cats and one dog, not counting my grandfather's lapdog (despite what you may say, that thing is not canine) whom is staying with us for the duration.

I have a pet cat. According to a chart I saw, cats are the most popular pet in the United States. It's interesting to see that dogs and cats are dead even here.
