favorite toys as a kid?

Talk about anything in here.

Okay so considering I've lived through many childhood fads...in chronological order...

1. G.I. Joes
2. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (anyone remember that ones that transformed from turtles into um...the turtles? Those were rad)
3. Bucky O'Hare
4. Mighty Morphin' (I never realized how ridiculous that looks without the G) Power Rangers
5. Star Wars
6. Pokemon and Related Pokemon Paraphernalia
7. Gundam Wing model kits
8. Dragon Ball Z card game (It's about to get really sad. I am 14 at this point.)
9. REGRESSION BACK TO GUNDAM WING MODEL KITS AT THE AGE OF 18.

...and that's where those hobbies ended because somewhere in there I got interested in music.
I'm a shoe-in for hater of the year.

Ah, the good ol' days...

collected alot of Hotwheels (not REALLY collected, but I had a tub full of em...)
Legos were always awesome.
Transformers were like the coolest things to ever spawn the toystore. (for me)
Oh, I tried Pogs out once. LOL, what a joke.

I've collected alot of fads, but I'm just listing my early childhood stuff. ^_^

Gi Joes, TMNT. Someone mentioned Mask Men earlier...I loved those as a kid. I cannot remember if my folks got em for me or my brother though. I might have gotten those second hand...but they rocked!

I had a cute wittle baby Godzilla (from the newer movie...with all the little Zillas) toy that I named "Cookie." Does that count as a dinnosaur? :0'

I had a Fidel Castro Barbie doll. X.x;

I think I played with my rubber duckies more than anything that I can remember. Not the usual rubber duckie though, it was the mother duckie and on her back were three or fou places to set the babies ^_^ I use to throw the babies at my little brother and get the whole bathroom wet.

But really, I think dirt was my favorite "toy".

Dirt
Wooden Blocks (you know the ones with a number or letter on them)
Lego Bucket (forget the legos you could do SO many things with the bucket)

After those I don't recall playing much with toys unless it involved taking things apart then hiding the pieces in my brother's room so he'd get in trouble.
"Tell me not, in mournful numbers,
Life is but an empty dream!
For the soul is dead that slumbers,
and things are not what they seem.
Life is real! Life is earnest!
And the grave is not its goal;
Dust thou art; to dust returnest,
Was not spoken of the soul."

Oh... I had a Giga Pet... I lost it under my couch for some time... and I remember being able to hear it but I wasn't able to find it... untill much later, when its battery had died. Also had (and still have) those Digimon things they released before the show came out in America... they were fun^^

Guess where I got my gigapet!

I got it at... KFC! Seriously  they were selling them for like 2 dollars so I bought one.

I also had the "Hey you! Pikachu!" thing that was similar to a Gigapet. I adored that thing XD

I posted this on the doll forum that I frequent.

I thought I would share. :)

Back when I was just about 3 or 4 my Mom took me to a store called Gibsons.
I remember setting in the front of the cart and looking at dollies.
Then my mom pulled a doll down off the shelf and asking me if I liked it.

The doll went home with us and after that she was always with me.
I named her Floppy (yeah I know odd name for a doll) but she was very floppy.
I carried her with me to church and everywhere. Everyone at our church knew Floppy and how much I loved that doll.
I was sickly child and Floppy went to the hospital with me many times.
As I grew older I got more dolls but none were as special to me as Floppy.

Floppy’s hair became discolored and loose so my sister pulled the wig off.
After that Floppy always had a bonnet on to cover her head.

Her vinyl became yellowed from all my playing in the sun.
But all and all she held up well.

Even after I quit playing with dolls she always had a place of honor in my room.
Then I moved out and thought she would be more safe if I left her in my old room.

I was gone out of town for about a year, and I had plans to move out of state. So I made a trip to go and collect my keepsakes from my old room.
To my shock many of my things were missing. Including my old dolls.
I have no idea what happened to my things.

Entire books full of my art, where no where to be found, and can never be replaced.
I knew that noone in my family would have thrown my things away. So the only thing I can think is that the neighbor kids stole them.

I was very upset about my dolls. Not many women still have their dolls that they got as girls.
But I couldn’t do anything about it, so I moved here to PA.

Then about a month ago I got a package in the mail from my mom.
It was a Doll that looked just like Floppy, only she was in a little better shape. Though this doll didn’t have any hair either.

When I seen her I almost cried. This doll holds so many memories for me. My mom had found her in a garage sale and purchased her for just a dollar.

Which I think is a good price for my favorite doll in the world.

I looked at the stamp on her neck and found that she is a Hasbro Real Baby, designed by Judith Turner.

Now I have Floppy on display in my front room with all of my new dolls. She is wearing a pick cabbage patch sleeper outfit.

Thank you all for reading.

I have attached a pic I took of her.

My favorite toys were a little train you could pull around on a string, a little plastic guitar that made funny noises, some green sippycup, and a big plastic soup spoon. Oh yeah and a little book with a squeaky mouse.

Well- ...good point :/ They say one Barbie is sold every minute :/ She's SO expensive though! Seriously, 15-20 bucks for ONE doll?! Then it's like 50 for her and her dream pony and stuff... :/ Surprises me that in toy aisles she has like ONE WHOLE ROW devoted to her and her kind :/
I heard once, well this quote will explain: ""In Barbie-land, Midge married boy-doll Alan in 1991, and the happy couple already has a 3-year-old son, Ryan. The pregnant Midge, who wears a tiny white wedding ring, has a detachable magnetic stomach that allows easy "delivery" of the baby." "
Think it was taken off the market cause it was "bad".

I guess my favorite toys were anything that came from a happy meal or a Cracker Jack package. Though I used to be really into those Brio wooden train-sets (build your own railroad type of toys). Legos would have to come to a close second in that respect.

I remember sitting in front of the TV watching Power Rangers, and trying to combine the little robot thingies into the giant robot thingy as it happened in the show. I was quite dissapointed when the sequence finished and I had just finished with the legs. Other than that I had a lot of legos. I really can't think of anything else.

My blankie. Did duty as a cape, tent, bag, and best friend. Plus it scared away all evil monsters.

Other then that, I had this flashlight that changed lens colors. Went everywhere with me. I was afraid of the dark.
