lol uhm... CAA's password recovery system doesn't recognize any of my e-mail addys... I think I registered with one that died about a year ago >_>;

anyhow, uh... actually, I know the person who made this thread. He and I were working together on a project due after spring break in the lab when this lil joke happened. Not to worry anyhow, I use seperate passwords for everything I do.

hehe, I know. It's a mistake I've only made once now.

I'd do the thumbdrive thing, but State only lets a person execute binary files that are under 250 KB in size unless the system admin allows for a certain binary to be run, so it won't work.

Have you tried it? I've used my thumb drive Firefox at work and at school. Never had an issue.

Edit: BTW, the Portable Firefox executable is only 64Kb.

Of course, your computer might be slower or, you know, not working afterwards.

Seriously, however, it depends which browser. On Firefox, I believe it would be the "Clear Private Data" option in the Tools menu. I don't know with Internet Explorer since I don't use it regularly.

But this makes you think, if Slater wasnt slater, than could other members be people who they arnt too? Could UC actually be a small cooperation with the intent of creating an online identity with which to serve some sinister purpose? It would explain his post count...

Actually, what Steeltemplar said is right. Never ever sell your old harddrive to anyone, even if you've "deleted" everything on it.

well, you can do like a 50 rewrite over-military grade format to your HD, and that shoud make sure that it is everything is gone.

What about reformatting?

For data I want to stay buried, I use a program from System Mechanic called Incinerator that overwrites the files with x's and o's a set number of times. I believe they say 7 times of this is military encryption standard...

... or are the hacker members out there laughing at my naivety?

On IE you can delete cookies and temporary data files, both online and offline (the cache I believe)

I use a program called "Privacy Mantra" to clear out all of that info and the DAT files that keep track of what sites you visited. It's free or you can donate and get a version that is able to be tailored to what you want to keep/delete when itcomes to cookies.
