Weird, I got a mention. I think Saint Kevin does have a point, but could be a little less blunt in the delivery. It's alright to have some fun and games (but, yes - worthwhile posts are good). I wouldn't want to be serious all the time.

Myself, I've always been in a kind of vague awe of Omega Amen for reasons I've never been able to pin down.

There really isn't anything wrong with acknowledging a few members with their contribution to the forums, of which was the intent of the thread. Granted, there will always be a few members that stick out due to their availability on the boards and that's fine. How one uses the forum is relative on each person's interest in being here, whether it would be as a social gathering, or simply reading postings as a way of learning new things.

Of course, with me being relatively new here, I cannot say there is a particular 'face' that sticks to mind. Like Saint Kevin mentioned, anybody who makes the effort to post things that are meaningful and helpful will always be remembered in one way or another.

Well, nevertheless, thank you, AngelSakura. As I adjust to my current stage in life, I will try to come on more often and hopefully clarify people's impressions of me.

As for the complaints about these types of threads giving attention to undeserving members and not giving attention to deserving members, etc., etc.,... I would advise to never seek fame or attention as an end in itself. One who does that will end up being seen as insincere and shallow and will never draw worthy admiration.

To be truly appreciated by others requires one to be truly appreciative of others. Give and you shall receive. Good people will recognize and respond positively to people who initiate selfless acts and implement good ideas for others. Serve others without thinking about your self-interest. Provide direction for others' problems and concerns without expecting anything in return. And always remember that anyone can teach you something valuable. Do these things, and good people will truly appreciate you.

You might never see this appreciation in your life, but it will be there. And most importantly, as we know from the example of Jesus Christ, God will appreciate what you have done.

I'm not know, and don't really care. I'm not here to become ubiquitous.

As for the most famous member, I think Omega hit it with the passing ages.

I'm a bit surprised I got a mention - I haven't even hit the 1000 post mark!

I would have to agree that Omega Amen does have a certain 'vague awe' about him. It's like you have an aura of wisdom and maturity around you.
And just as proof, his last post had some very wise words.

As for the famous-est members.... I would say MSP, Locke, Kae, CR, termyt, bigsleepj, and various other assorted people.
It really depends which sub-forums you hang out on, because some people are quite visible in, say, Goof Off, and the non-Goof Off-ers will probably not think that person is all that famous...

"Vaguely awesome" is actually something I say sometimes, so there you go. XD To be vaguely awesome is being awesome even though all the concrete reasons for your awesomeness aren't enough to cover the entirity of your awesomeness. Therefore, those around you experience a sense of vague awe they can't put their finger on.

Does anoybody remember the "For Yojimbo" thread that popped up like a year ago? If you do, do you remember the whole chain of "for __________" threads that spawned from that one? Hooo boy I had fun in that thread, but things spun out of control ne?

its got to nbe MSP and Kaem hands down. I mean I heard about both of them before I ever talked to them...they are legends!!! all you have to do is say thier name and noone ever says "who" because they just know *dun dun dun *

I think Sakura15, Silvanis,meboeck, Warrior4Jesus & that dude are pretty well known as well. Volt, Locke and Impact Alberto are like infamous too...

I don't think we should even label folks here as "famous". In my opinion, it implies having favorites, and others might feel a bit left out.

I wouldn't worry about it, I've never really been mentioned on threads like this but then again I didn't really do much to deserve a mention. I'm just here to chat with christians who have the same sorta interests as me and because it's the best moderated forum I've ever been on (you could say I'm sucking up, but it's true, the flame/spam ratio between this and other non-christian forums is staggering!)

I just want to say that 'famous' and 'popular' are not the same thing. Some members are famous in my mind for not-very-good reasons. I won't go further to elaborate on that. You know what I mean.

So....anyway, for those of you who have ever felt bad for not being famous, pat yourselves on the back and smile. You're fine. Seriously.

Being famous is over-rated and has its disadvantages. Everyone picks on every single thing you do and you eventually have expectations you have to live up to since ppl claim to know you well. For example, you have a hard time changing your avatar from a DDR rabbit to anything else you really want. Now how silly is that? XD Watch how celebrities suffer and learn.
