Well, Zarn beat me to it about making a post about ATF, but he didn't mention the battle going on.
The theme for the event was The Battle Cry for a Generation and it talked about how if we don't do something right now to bring more people to Christ then we and our children are going to have a lot to deal with when we get older. Also, that we are in a spiritual war where Satan is using various things, specifically media, to harm people.
Regardless of what anyone else might think, I believe that what they are saying is true. Think about it, the things we see on tv and in the movies and video games are filled to the brim with sex, violence, and everything else unwholesome. Music too. For example, I've seen movies that have sex scenes for absolutely no reason at all. They had nothing to do with the plot! It's all over the internet too. Is there any of us that hasn't open our e-mail boxes and found spam from porn sites, let alone haveing to play the close-as-many-porn-pop-ups-as-fast-as-you-can game?
That's barely scratching the surface.
Along with the effects of media garbage, our generation is stuck in this "relative truth" thing; truth depends on the situation.
And the surface is still barely scratched!
Satan (and the demons along with him) are pulling teens into a spiral of self-destruction through the pushing of sex, drugs, self-mutation and moral wilderness. I don't know about any of you, but I'm tired of standing back and watching. And I'm not going to let him fool me any more into exposing myself to things that don't produce Christ like behaviours. What goes into our brain is exactly what come out. Philippians 4:8 " Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable- if anything is excellent or praiseworthy- think about such things."
Those who follow Christ are spiritual warriors for Him and as warriors we need to answer the call to battle against the evils of our world before it destroys the souls of a whole generation. 1 Timothy 6:12 "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses." Ephesians 6:11 "Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes."

*sigh*I'm shocked knowing how much truth is in these words.....

Though,and I'm sure most people know,not all media is like that.Unforutantly,the kind of media you mentioned is becoming more and more popular.Imagine walking into a Wal-Mart and seeing some AWFUL movie/video game/music CD EVERY SINGLE TIME you go in.If we don't act now,that could be a reality in just a couple of years.But we have a All-Mighty God on our side,all we need to do is pray,do our best not to give in,and Satan will fail to get us big time.

I heard somewhere, and I remeber it was credible, that full frontal nudity will be comonplace on tv in 5 to 8 years. Media is going for the shock factor to get ratings and they are ever increasing on what they have done in the past.

*remembers seeing the Dukes of Hazzard movie v_v* DVD said it was PG and had no nudity etc... I still think the unedited version was put in the wrong box :/ Mostly mad cause of the unexpected factor that id didn't even say it was in it... people watching the theatrical didn't even see the bad stuff.

I sometimes see the words "uncut! and uncensored!" as a lure for people. Renting the Family Guy movie and a little skeptical to how bad it would get... no difference than the regular show :/ (Just to note: no, I didn't get it because of the "uncut!" thing.) Unlike the South Park movie when I was into it WAY back when... @_@


Oh, an even in my secular psychology class, my classmates (whom I'm the only Christian) were quite disturbed at the idea of how parents let their kids watch rated R/18-A movies (mainly the scary ones). Lousy typical horrors and their random sex scenes that really don't have any other use but fanservice^^

Yeah.. my example was referring to the soft core porn scene in The Fog.
