Poll: Rumiko Takashi's best anime so far!

Rumiko Takahashi is one of my all-time favorite anime creators. I like Inuyasha, Ranma 1/2, and Maisson Ikkoku. So I was curious to see which ones you people like best.

Because I haven't seen enough of Ranma 1/2 to really judge it (Only saw Season One on DVD) I'm going with the ultimate mixed breed, Inuyasha!

Well, I didn't vote, because the only one I've ever seen is InuYasha, and it wouldn't be fair. XD But, I do enjoy InuYasha from time to time. :D

Urusei Yatsura was her best work, with Maison Ikkoku and Mermaid Saga also being excellent stories. I especially preferred UY because unlike the later stories where the story would start with a problem that was resolved in the end, UY would start with a problem and then amplify it with these goofy aliens who totally disrupted the ordinary daily life of these people. The stories didn't end in harmony, they ended in chaos... which made for great comedy

However, beginning with Ranma, her works begin to become formulaic and disappointing... stories undistinguished from other stories of the same time from other manga authors.

I thought it was called "Mermaid's Scar" but, in any case, my favorite Takahashi anime is Rumiko Theater. (another case where the "official" romanization is just plain wrong... It's her name, for crying out loud!) Short stories... Which means they have an ending, unlike Ranma, Inu Yasha, and Urusei Yatsura...

Her other series ended.

Her short stories were a mixed bag, from the touching to the humorous to the lame. My favorite would be the "JCIA vs United Pigs" series

I'll probably have to say Maison Ikkoku, because I've only seen that, Ranma, and Inuyasha. Inuyasha is blah, Ranma is good (but dragged a bit in the middle), so that leaves MI as the winner for me. I've seen bits and pieces of UY, but not enough to make a judgement on it.

Mermaid’s Scar is one of a series of mermaid themed stories. Mermaid Forest also comes to mind, but I can't remember any other names. The all have that same background setting, but involve different characters.

You mention Maison Ikkoku, but it’s not in your pick list! It’s my favorite of Takahashi’s series.

Definately Maison Ikkoku hands down.
