Reincarnation is deception!

If we start to examine basic views of the New Age movement and the Oriental religions, it is good to start from reincarnation. This doctrine is namely in the background almost in all teaching of the New age movement and it is also the basic belief of the Oriental religions, in other words of Hinduism and Buddhism. About its commonness has been estimated, that about 25 % of people in the western countries believes in it, but in India and other countries of Asia, where is the origin of this doctrine, the percentage is naturally much bigger. There, in other words mainly in India and other countries of Asia has been taught this doctrine already at least for 2000 years, and obviously it was accepted generally about 300 before Christ, not just before it.

When it is a question of reincarnation, it in any case is based on the fact, that our life is believed to be continuous circulation. Its is believed to be continuous circulation, so that each person is born on the earth again and again and again, and gets a new incarnation always according to that, how he has lived in his former life. All that bad, what happens to us today, should only be consequence of the earlier happenings, and that we must now reap it, what we have sown earlier. Only if we experience enlightenment and at the same time are freed from the circulation, in other words we will achieve moksha, so this circulation does not continue eternally. (However in the western view achieving of moksha is not very important. Instead of that, in the western world reincarnation is seen in positive light, in other words mainly as a possibility to develop and to grow spiritually. It hasn't similar negative nuance to generally in east.)

But what can we think about reincarnation; is it really true or not, and is it worth while to believe? We try to search for answer to this matter in this writing.

I was once in a discussion with somebody before. If reincarnation were to be true. How is the world population + population of animals growing today? I mean, the world population of humans (and I suspect all living organisms) were less than now. So where are all these extra reincarnated souls appearing from?

I wouldn't be surprised if this gets locked pretty soon. And as far as it goes the
Eastern form is just one of many different verisons of Reincarnation. The Celts also believed in a form of Reincarnation.

What in the world is that building in the upper left hand side of your webpage? As far as bashing reincarnation... It really isn't a fair forum topic, let's face it we're on CHRISTIAN webpage... so obviously even if someone believed in reincarnation they wouldn't post or even be given a fair chance, they are outnumbered in such a way that I would have to feel sorry for them... Therefore, why go about stating such a thing. Also, try not to make forum posts that seem antagonistic or could be offensive... So far I've found that doing such generally tends to just make very hard-minded enemies and removes logic or intellectual growth altogether. And it starts mindless arguments, just a few suggestions.

I do also know Plato, through the mouth of Socrates (which means Socrates may or may not have actually believed it) seemed to have believed in reincarnation, citing an oracle speaking of how Persephone returns just souls to the earth embodied at certain points of time (perhaps when her 'term' with Hades in the Winter is over). I've never encountered evidence that believers in reincarnation believe the number of souls in existence is static, and if so, Vedic sources would be good to point out on where this is taught. I do know many Buddhists don't exactly think the reincarnation cycle is confined to the earth, but to a larger amount of spheres. I don't believe in reincarnation as such, I do believe in the resurrection of the dead in their glorified soma pneumatikon (which is hopelessly often poorly translated into some kind of disembodied existence after Christ's defeat of all evil), but it is best to play fair with in all things, including being accurate to other beliefs in the way they are actually believed.

Also, I will at present put out my voice that I believe this topic should not be locked as long as a spirit of diplomacy in dialogue is maintained.

Since the signs of a future debate on this are evident, I'm going to go ahead and lock this since we would rather not encourage debate on the topic. Take any discussion to PM if necessary.
