It's an expression of indifference, methinks.

Or as in,

"Hey Nate, how are you today?"
"Meh."

It is also something The Cheat says.

'Meh,' distantly related to 'wah.' I tend to use both 'meh' and 'wah.' 'Meh' for frustrated and indifferent reactions; 'wah' for surprised reactions. My friends all find this very humorous.

It's in the Wiktionary: Meh

regarding 'meh' in the 'wiktionary. anyone else amused that 'Kurdish' is a language? not that there's any reason why it shouldn't be. but I just think of cottage cheese and other dairy products talking, when I think of kurdish. <.< XD

uh..yea. carry on.

Sometimes I think people do have a loose idea of what it means, and as far as I'm concerned it can NOT be used as "my" unless it was spelled "mah".

Meh is meh... it is an indifference.
Like "Do you want something to eat?" "meh". Means you don't really feel like it or care. It's more of "lazy" talk I guess and people get mad that you don't geive them a straight answer.
"So you don't want anything to eat?" "Meh!" "Do you or do you not want anything" "I SAID meh!"

Heh I've never seen The Cheat so it's not where I picked it up from^^ I think it was a slight manifest of this one Simpson ep I watched where Homer gets a helper monkey and they make some werid sound that sounded like "ehhh..." that I ended up using alot and then turned into meh over time.

*reads the definition and cracks up* That's great. Wouldn't a grunt work just as well? Eh (pronounced "eh", not "ay"; I'm not Canadian) works, too. And if used as a sign of irritation, would "feh" be its counterpart? A sign of greater irritation than "meh", I mean.

"Meh" is an expression of annoyed disinterest.

"Have you done your homework?"
"Meh."
Every year in Uganda, innumerable children simply. . . disappear. These children all stolen under the cover of darkness from their homes and impressed into the guerilla armies of the LRA [Lord's Resistance Army]. In the deserts of Uganda, they are forced to witness the mindless slaughter of other children until they themselves can do nothing but kill. Kill. These children, generally ranging from ages 5-12, are brainwashed into murdering in the name of the resistance and into stealing other children from their beds to suffer the same fate.

Because of this genocide of innocence, hundred and hundreds of children live every night sleeping in public places miles from their homes, because they know that if the do not-- they will disappear. They will become just another number in this genocide to which the international community has chosen to turn a blind eye. They will become, in affect, invisible-- Invisible Children.

But there are those who are trying to fight against this slaughter of Uganda's children. They fight to protect these "invisible children." Please, help them help a country full of children who know nothing by fear. Help save the innocence. For more information concerning how you can help and how you can get an incredible video about this horrific reality, visit the Invisible Children home page.

Yeah, that's how I use "meh", as an expression of annoyance or indifference. "Feh" is more of a scoff.

Ah. Is that what Inuyasha's doing? ^_^ It'd sound right on for his character.

In Japanese it sounds like he things like "keh" alot which more suit his character. "meh" wouldn't cut it for a guy like him, cause keh sounds angrier anyways.

I thought he used "feh". That's what I was referring to.
