ok post some lyrics and see if these other noobs (jk) can name teh band and the song. me go foist.---------------------------------------------------------------

Move yourself

You always live your life
Never thinking of the future
Prove yourself
You are the move you make
Take your chances win or loser

See yourself
You are the steps you take
You and you - and that’s the only way

Shake - shake yourself
You’re every move you make
So the story goes

Owner of a lonely heart
Owner of a lonely heart
Much better than - a
Owner of a broken heart
Owner of a lonely heart

Say - you don’t want to chance it
You’ve been hurt so before

Watch it now
The eagle in the sky
How he dancin’ one and only
You - lose yourself
No not for pity’s sake
There’s no real reason to be lonely
Be yourself
Give your free will a chance
You’ve got to want to succeed

Owner of a lonely heart
Owner of a lonely heart
Much better than - a
Owner of a broken heart
Owner of a lonely heart

Owner of a lonely heart

After my own decision
They confused me so - owner of a lonely heart
My love said never question your will at all
In the end you’ve got to go
Look before you leap - owner of a lonely heart
And don’t you hesitate at all - no no

Owner of a lonely heart
Owner of a lonely heart
Much better than - a
Owner of a broken heart
Owner of a lonely heart
(repeat)

Owner of a lonely heart

Sooner or later each conclusion
Will decide the lonely heart - owner of a lonely heart
It will excite it will delight
It will give a better start - owner of a lonely heart

Don’t deceive your free will at all
Don’t deceive your free will at all - owner of a lonely heart
Don’t deceive your free will at all
Just receive it
gone for good...

Nah. It's Yes. From their 80's period when they were more pop. Great song, but I must admit I think Close to the Edge was their best album.

Alright, try this one. A classic:

You'll take my life but I'll take yours too
You'll fire your musket but I'll run you through
So when you're waiting for the next attack
You'd better stand there's no turning back.

The Bugle sounds and the charge begins
But on this battlefield no one wins
The smell of acrid smoke and horses breath
As I plunge on into certain death.

The horse he sweats with fear we break to run
The mighty roar of the Russian guns
And as we race towards the human wall
The screams of pain as my comrades fall.

We hurdle bodies that lay on the ground
And the Russians fire another round
We get so near yet so far away
We won't live to fight another day.

We get so close near enough to fight
When a Russian gets me in his sights
He pulls the trigger and I feel the blow
A burst of rounds take my horse below.

And as I lay there gazing at the sky
My body's numb and my throat is dry
And as I lay forgotten and alone
Without a tear I draw my parting groan.

I'll give you all a hint. The name of the song is "The Trooper" and the album it is on is called Piece of Mind.

A ring of haze encircles the unshrouded truth within
Another seal is broken as the heavens prepare
To break forth in fulfillment

A blanket of deception is layered on sacred writings
Which contain the thoughts of the One who is Almighty God

A sword unsheathed is drawn bringing legions of demons to their knees
By the covenant prepared before the earth itself still
So many choose to warm themselves beneath deception

A ring of haze encircles the unshrouded truth within
Another seal is broken as the heavens prepare
To break forth in fulfillment
A blanket of deception is layered on sacred writings
Which contain the thoughts of the One who is Almighty God
A sword is drawn, unsheathed bringing legions of demons to their knees
By the knowledge of a covenant prepared before the earth itself
Still so many choose to warm themselves beneath deception

As the end draws near and history closes
I pray that the winds and the rain of that which is latter
Will bring clarity and understanding to Your infallible Word
Let the lack of knowledge that destroys us be lifted in Your name

That would be ZAO's The Latter Rain, from Blood & Fire.

EDIT: Since it seems like anyone can post a song, I decided to:

I've heard all your whining / all this talk behind my back / the time is coming / the time is now for our attack
A new sun rising / a new one in your world of black / don't try to stop this / you will break like glass

Move over son / your time is done / the weak are trapped under our feet
The city's gone / we see you run / cause you can't take the heat

Let's go / the only way we know / is taking you out

Did you not understand me / were you not listening last time / a new day dawning / and we're taking back your life
You look so pathetic / and were taking back control / I'm sorry but we have to let you go

Move over son / your time is done / the weak are trapped under our feet
The city's gone / we see you run / cause you can't take the heat

Let's go / the only way we know / is taking you out / taking you out

Okay, I got one:

Verse I:
I don't think I can handle this
A cloudy day here in Metropolis
I think I'll talk to my analyst
I got it so bad for this little journalist
Verse II:
It drives me up the wall and through the roof
Lois and Clark in a telephone booth
I think I'm going out of my brain
I got it so bad for little miss Lois Lane
Chorus:
Lois Lane, please put me in your planner
Yeah Lois Lane, you don't need no Superman
C'mon downtown and stay with me tonight
I got a pocket full of kryptonite
Verse III:
He's leaping buildings in a single bound
And I'm reading Shakespeare in my place downtown
C'mon downtown and make love to me
I'm Jimmy Olsen, not a titan you see
Verse IV:
He's faster than a bullet
Stronger than a train
He's the one who got lucky,
Got his cape around miss Lois Lane (chorus)
(repeat v. 1 and chorus)

Make his fight on the hill in the early day
Constant chill deep inside
Sounding gun, on they run through the endless grey
On the fight, for they are right, yes, by who's to say?
For a hill men would kill, why? They do not know
Suffered wounds test there their pride
Men of five, still alive through the raging glow
Gone insane from the pain that they surely know

For whom the bell tolls
Time marches on
For whom the bell tolls

Take a look to the sky just before you die
It is the last time you will
Blackened roar massive roar fills the crumbling sky
Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry
Stranger now, are his eyes, to this mystery
He hears the silence so loud
Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be
Now the will see what will be, blinded eyes to see

For whom the bell tolls
Time marches on
For whom the bell tolls

Okay, who's this:

Long as I remember
the rain been comin' down.
Clouds of myst'ry pouring
confusion on the ground.
Good men through the ages,
try'n' to find the sun,
and I wonder, still I wonder,
who'll stop the rain.

I went down Virgina
seekin' shelter from the storm.
Caught up in the fable,
I watched the tower grow.
Five years plans and new deals,
wrapped in golden chains,
and I wonder, still I wonder,
who'll stop the rain.

Heard the singers playin'
how we cheered for more.
The crowd had rushed together,
trying' to keep warm.
Still the rain kept pourin',
fallin' in my ears,
and I wonder, still I wonder
who'll stop the rain.

^Wow, I'm stumped. Stevie Ray Vaughan?

Here's an easy one:
*********************************
Ma, take this badge off of me.
I can't use it any more.
It's getting dark, too dark to see.
Feel like I'm knockin' on heaven's door.

Knock, knock, knockin' on heavens door.
Knock, knock, knockin' on heavens door.
Knock, knock, knockin' on heavens door.
Knock, knock, knockin' on heavens door.

Ma, take these guns away from me.
I can't shoot them any more.
There's a long black cloud following me.
Feel like I'm knockin' on heaven's door.
*********************************

See if you can guess who it's by. And it's not the original Bob Dylan.

Eric Clapton - Knockin' On Heavens Door

Ok, here is one

These times will try the hearts of men once carved in stone
Brother against brother poison spread within our own

Tonight you die a traitor’s death
A short drop a sudden stop
You know no honor
And now you’re shown for who you are
Tonight you die a traitor’s death
A short drop a sudden stop
You know no honor
And now

So part you lips bring forth a tongue yet Judas borne
Left handed strokes with two edged blades land where they may
A back the best target and truth avoids you still
Cowards, liars, traitors; this song was meant for you

Tonight you die a traitor’s death
A short drop a sudden stop
You know no honor
And now you’re shown for who you are
Tonight you die a traitor’s death
A short drop a sudden stop
You know no honor

Here is a hint, it is a christian metal band...

Correctemente!
Here is another one:
How could I ever go back
Back to the life
Where I lived amongst the dead
Who have forgotten how to feel
And become slaves to memory
And wishful thinking
But your love has set me free
As you awaken every star
That has been sleeping
In the constellation of my soul
How could I go back to live amongst the dead
Those who imprisoned beauty
I never want to leave your arms
So I wait in hope for your embrace
Illusions of what I thought was love
Now I have clear sight to see
That I have left nothing behind
